  1. Thanks Jim. I've never seen one of those Edger/Creaser that you showed. I use the plastic edgers from Tandy and apply a black edge dye when I think I'm done. I'll have to give your technique a try as I know I don't do a very good job at it and sure need something that will work for me. Thanks again, Butch
  2. Thanks for the comments and critique MADMAX22. I know I need to really work on edges. It's something I don't really like doing but it's also one of more important things to do. I really didn't pay much attention about the loop and I agree with you after looking at it. Thanks. Thanks, Butch
  3. And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln I'm 52 Butch

  6. Here's the images of the Dr. Bag Pattern. As mentioned before the pattern isn't to scale, but the dimensions are real close. Butch Side: Bottom: Front and Back: Top:
  7. Those are very cool Tim. My brother would love them; he's a big time John Deere Fan. Butch
  8. There has been quite a few requests for the Dr. Bag Pattern. If I have forgotten anyone please let me know. The pattern is not to scale but has all of the measurements. I took pictures of the pattern that I created and also pictures of the Dr. Bag and put them into a zip file. If anyone else would like the images just send me a message with your email and I'll send it to you. Thanks, Butch
  9. I haven't made too many holsters and this is my first attempt at holster belts. The holster on the left is a West Texas holster pattern for a Super Commanche .45/410. The holster is finished in neatsfoot oil and tan-kote. I still need to put bullet loops on it. The belt on the right holds 29 .223 cartridges. The belt is finished with a mixture of neatsfoot oil and medium brown antique. I did not apply any tan-kote to it. Thanks Jim for the Belt Patterns. Thanks for looking. Any critique is welcome. Butch
  10. I sent a message to you all. If anyone else is interested send me a message. Thanks, Butch
  11. Very Nice. Butch
  12. Those are great. What a better way to show off your work. Seat down please!
  13. Well deserved. Very nice work.
  14. Thanks guys. For the lighter colored wallet I applied one coat of Tan-Kote. Let it dry and applied two coats of Eco-Flow Med Brown Antique. And then applied two more coats of Tan-Kote. (Thanks Hidepounder) I don't think I rubbed it out as much as I should have though. For the darker colored wallet I applied two coats of Eco-Flow Dark Brown and then sprayed it with Fiebing's Saddle Lac Spray. My personal preference is the finish on the lighter colored wallet. Thanks again, Butch
  15. My hat is off to you!
  16. Here's a couple of Roper Wallets that I've made. I just finished the lighter colored wallet and have been using the darker colored wallet. Thanks for looking. Butch

    Beveling

Thanks for all of the advice. I'll have to get out the scrap pieces and use your techniques and see what works for me the best. Thank again, Butch
  18. I just got to ask why this wasn't posted a little over a week ago when I started a West Texas holster for a Super Comanche 45-410. Seriously, this is a great tutorial and will definitely come in handy next time. Thanks, Butch

    Beveling

Does anyone have any real good tips on beveling? I've been working with leather for awhile but just can't seem to get a real clean/crisp looking bevel. I even spend a lot of time with a modeling tool, but it just never comes out very good. I know that practice is supposed to make perfect, but I don't think my practice is perfect. (Sorry I don't have any pictures) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Butch
  22. Very nice work. Butch
