  1. Sorry missed that. Thanks for the info. Butch
  2. Very nice. Is there a special way you have to twist the fringe so that it stays?
  3. I'd have to say some of those veiners look pretty cool for flower centers. I've never seen or tried that before. Thanks, Butch

  6. I can't tell you where to start, but I wish you the best. I've heard if you do what you love you'll never work another day in your life. Sounds good to me. Butch
  7. My best time in the saddle was long ago. I started as a Horse Wrangler for Babbitt Ranches at Cedar Ranch for Bill Howell. From there I spent my time as a Cowpuncher at Pine Flats for Marion Perkins, Cowden Ranch for Marshall Hartman and the best job I've ever had in my life at Ft Rock Ranch for Jimmy Yarborough. All these ranches were in Northern Arizona. I regret quitting as a Cowpuncher, but no reason to look back now. Another reason I want to get to our property in Texas and live the life again.
  8. David, I'm not an expert at saddles, but I sure like what I see. It sure looks like the time paid off. Great job. Butch

  14. Ya it is. I made this one for friend's daughter. Critique is always welcome. Thanks, Butch I shouldn't have matted the back. It kind of hides the letters. Lesson learned. Just a couple more pics

    Knives

Unfortunately I forgot who said it, but box cutters are for just that, cutting open a box. I exclusively use a round knife and on very few occasions a rotary cutter. You have to keep the round knife sharp at all times; and some people don't like to do that. I have a metal ruler and a metal square I use when cutting straight lines. Below are a few links to Tandy. I've heard there are better, but you can use these links as a starting point. You can pick up a Rotary Cutter at a local Walmart for a lot cheaper. Round Knife Rotary Cutter Hope it helps. Butch

  22. Nicely done brifpot. I did one awhile back and had a bugger of a time with the zipper. I haven't done one since but I will be soon. Butch
