This darn thing has a use. Just not sure what it is yet. I'm gonna try it again and see if I can figure out how I got there. Tom

I aint got the slightest idea how I ended up with this. But I'll figure it out. Been reading the Ron Edwards book. A really great book. Got it at the libarary. This thing started out as being just 2, 4 strand braids to use as a core for a handle on a handbag I'm playing with. But one thing led to another and this is what I have. Not too sure how I got there. Tom

Yeah I think I can get more of the boxes. May have to smoke a few cigars though. LOL. Tom

I got it done. Didnt put any kind of finish on the interior just left it natural. I kinda like it that way. Might do more the same way. I know I'm going to do another Celtic project because it really was great practice, that and I love redheaded women. Or maybe I'll work my way through the alphabet just doing letters. It's actually an old cigar box I got from the guy at the hardware store. It had a sliding lid so I just made a little half round thingy on top then cut it open and glued it to the sliding lid. A place to put my needles and sutff. I made some little leather hinges and "Viola" a sewing box. Tom

I decided to go with the blue. As I am not fond of metalic colors I left the knot natural. I think the interior will be natural too. Tom -
Good idea. Been wanting to do that. Thank you.Tom Hey there. Check out the the deer processing guys. Thats where I got these. If they dont have any they can let the hunters know you want some.Tom

Celtic design's will sure give you the practice workout with your beveler. But It was fun. The picture I have shows it with a red background. I'm thinking green or blue. Still haven't decided what kind of background to use yet. Use to be I only had one background tool so thats what I went with. Life is tough all over. Tom

I've did the knife handle and gun rack thing. Thinking about using one of them for the handle of a whip. I've got a 8' core for one started. Waiting on some hemp twine to come in before I can finish it. I thank you for the input. Tom

I'm gonna leave the barrel on the mold when I stain it so it wont deform when it gets wet again. I made the form out of 1 by 4's glued into a square then got out the block plane and wood files. Now I think this one will make a much nicer pencil holder for the ladies at the Library. Tom

Great tutorial. Thank you. I tried it out and thanks to your pics it was much easier for me. Is there a formula or a rule of thumb for the length of lace you need to acheive a given length for the finished braid? Tom

First off my photography sucks. I've been working on this for some time now. I kept wandering off track. I still have to put a lining in it. Didnt do before cause I didnt think I wanted it. Live and learn. Tom

Nice work. I like all of it. That gun belt looks like it has seen a battle or two. I should have mine done in a few days. Been taking my time and enjoying the process. I didn't make mine with the cut out for the holster to hang from. I used the style John Wayne wore in all his movies. Tom
