Hi Mad I have that basket weave tool and I'm still learning it. Thank you for the pics. My basket weave is getting better but needs "alot " of work. Great looking bag. Tom

I had a peice that was the right size for this pattern so I went for it. It's part of a gun belt pattern. I just liked the lines of it. I'm thinking it might make a nice flap for a ladies hand bag. Who knows. I guess I'll just have to wait till it tells me what it wants to be.

My Latest Wallet
carr52 replied to SlamDunc's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Seeing as how I love Dragons. Cool wallet. It has made me want to try to do something with a Dragon on it. I think Dragons are wonderful creatures. They just get a bad rap. I mean, like, eat one village and every body hates you. -
Thank you. Every time I look at the work on this site I learn. I like the way you added the depth to the main lettering. Is that a background tool? I'm going to try that. My tool selection is kinda slim but I'm working on it. Tom

I really like that. Good job. I've never tried to do skulls. Where can I get the pattern? -
checkbook covers

I tried to load these once already. Guess that shows how good i am with computers. I just sew the pockets on one at a time. i leave them long and cut them off when I'm done to get a cleaner look. I also glue them to hold them in place while I sew. -

I just sew the little pockets on the flap one at a time. On the bottom of the pocket. I leave them long so I can cut them off at the to get a cleaner look. I also glue them in place. It makes them stronger and holds them in place while I sew. -
Still practicing my basket weave. I think in about 50 years i might get the hang of it. Made these for the ladies at the bank. Who knows I might get lucky and one of them will bake me a cake. I hope.OOPS. I uploaded the pics twice.

Got a gift card from Tandy so I just had to put it in leather. Plus I "REALLY" need the practice with the Basket Weave tool. They're running a great deal. Buy a gift card and get an extra 25% free. I can't turn down a good deal. Tom

I really like your basket weave. I'm still having a problem keeping it straight. I see that you mark all the lines. I've been marking only the first one. I'm going to try it your way. I figure if I keep practicing I'll get better at it. Borders are still tough for me but I'm getting better at it.

Just got back from the hardware store and hooked up two new lights. Boy what a difference. Either I was just too blind to notice it before or just stupid. Well any way, problem solved. Now lets see if I can get rid of a few of those dumb mistakes I've been making. Like beveling over the line. yee haw no shadows. I'll give that a big MOO. Tom

Gun belt measurments
carr52 replied to Rhome's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I just made a paper template and kept messing with it till I got it the way I wanted it.Still havent made the belt yet. Working on a different type at the moment. -
I had transfered the pattern to the belt blank only to find out I didnt care for it in this project. Well I just hung it on the wall and there it sat for about a month. It finally got the best of me and I had to do somethng with it. I figured if I used a basket weave and just beat the MOO out of it I could hide the underlying pattern. Ta Da!! It worked. If you look real close you can still see it but what the heck, lemonade. Now the battery in my cheap camera is failing to hold a charge. Oh well, you get what you pay for. Gonna go look at a new one soon.

I love it. I had a 72 Bonneville back in my day. I was stationed at Ft. Bragg and used to ride that thing like my hair was on fire at a 120. Got it brand new in. It's a wonder it didn't kill me. But I was 19, Airborne and bullet proff. Or so I thought. Tom

NICE WORK, I'm still afraid to try animals. Carving that is. LOL. I tried to make an eagle and it turned out so so. I think I just need to keep practicing. Also need to work on my camera skills. My camera is ok I just dont use it enough to get good at it.

I got a sink cut out from a counter top maker for free. 1 1/4" granite works great.

Didn't get it in there on the other upload. Still trying to figure this out. I also need to learn how to take better pics. I'm gonna try some of the ideas on the web site and see if it will help me to improve. Cant hurt.

I like constructive criticism. It helps me to improve. Well any kind actually. If some one can point out something I'm doing wrong it will help me to improve my work. I know one thing i need to keep my darned hands cleaner.

Not sure if I'm doing it right or not so if you see my stuff more than once, sorry about that. I'll get it figured out sooner or later. Thanks.
