whadda ya think ita cost to send?
  3. I want to start making tactical belts with cobra buckles, and need to find some of the current colors that would qualify as mil spec. I want to do the double thick with a Velcro liner, I think I have looked at so many that I have lost track of what I have looked at.
  4. country brook designs, strapworks, theecwcorp, Fairview country sales, I have bought from Fairview but they don't have all the colors that I would like to be able to buy.
  5. now I am a noob to all of this, but after reading a lot here I thought I could use some for mock ups before jumping in and doing the real thing to make sure my pattern was ok, glued it up threw a few stitches in it adjusted where need be then used it as the actual pattern, save a tree and use the belly.
  6. I think it would be a far stretch for someone to go after the holster maker for someone using a gun, if a gun was to discharge after falling out of a holster it could be claimed that the holster was a fault, however the gun mfg has much deeper pockets than the holster maker does in most cases. If were to be held that maker of the holster of the holster was liable can you imagine how few would actually be making them for fear of being held liable. This sort of thinking falls right in to the hands of the anti gun people as another way to make people fear guns, the people that carry them, so on and so forth, if your looking for a better answer I am sure that in the state you live in there is a gun owners website with knowledgeable people that can lend a word to the conversation. Like in California there is Cal Gun owners, in Tennessee there is TGO.com or Tennessee gun owners, there are several law enforcement, lawyers that participate on those websites than would have a much greater understanding of the situation. I mean think about it in another term, if a saddle maker feared being sued for everyone that has fallen off of a horse there might not be many saddle makers, as well as many other commodities made. The makers of knife sheaths would not be making them out of fear of being sued because someone carried a knife and the knife was used to commit a violent crime.
  7. WELL, I didn't mean to pee in any one's Wheaties, and have half of the requirement for an account, however as a self employed person there really isn't a need for a federal I D number when a person can use their SS #, and I haven't paid attention in a while but I think there might be a few states that do not charge a sales tax, so that being the case if I am correct, then it is difficult to comply with all of their requirements to be able to buy whole sale vs retail. And being that they are in business then they should know that, and being it is internet sales, unless they feel that all should give to the likes of OBO and Bernie Sanders there is usually no sales tax attached to the sales anyway. It is like telling someone to create a corporation because they are protected by the corporate umbrella, when if fact that is false. But I am sure that all of you know that as well!! But there are those that feel that is should be difficult for anyone to enter in to a new venture primarily because it might have an affect on their own sales, what they fail to realize is that there is enough work for everyone and for several reasons. One of the reasons is that if it was really successful everybody with the talent to do it would be doing it. And for everyone that entered the field today there are probably several others that have failed. This isn't my 1st rodeo and probably be my last and as one of you pointed out, we are welcome to fail on any given day.
  8. I haven't looked for it but is it available in the U. S. ?
  9. to sort of ask another question and not to jack the thread, it seems like it is a little tough to set up an account with weaver if I am not mistaken, it seems like they want to you to have not only a business license but a tax I D from the IRS as well as a resellers permit from the state you are in, seems like an awful lot for someone that might be doing part time or as a hobby, please clarify if I am wrong. Thanks O n S
  10. the machine is gray with the lever like you mentioned.
  11. I have the 206rb, I believe it to be one of the 1st generation 206's
  12. I think I know where it might be now that you mention it I'll have to go back out and take a look, thanks for mentioning it.
  13. well I was going to post the photos I took, but I guess I have to load them to a hosting site and I have never had success doing that I don't see where I can do it as an attachment. is that correct or is there a step I am not seeing in the choices? I know that I did it once before just cant recall how I did it, is this website on tap talk that is how I have done it on other websited
  14. I'll get some photos and post a little later the rare earth magnets look good to me but not as shown. where are those from?. I used rare earth magnets on the vacuum table I built for Kydex and leather holsters, doing kydex now still trying to get up the nerve and where with all to do the leather.
  15. I will thank You, it may take me a while but when I get it done I will post photos.
  16. That would be great, I do run an 1.5 belt but it is a bit thicker so I would need to cut the straps longer anyway. Thanks again, that is what is great about this site, the willingness to share with one another.
  17. I have to admit I am a noob and have questions, but I have always been told the only dumb one's are he one's that go un asked so here I go. Being that I am a noob at working with a machine and looking to get on the fast rack with a few things, I realized that due to eye sight as well as a few other repairable items, I am not keeping a straight stitch right now and I know over time it will get better, but until then is there some sort of straight fence that I can install on the machine to aid in keeping a straight line. Another member here point me in the direction of one, but the machine I have is the 1st generation of the 206rb so the bed doesn't look to be taped out with same hole pattern as a new machine, so I am uncertain if the guide he pointed out to me would work. is there something or am I going to have a need to fabricate something that will help until I build the ability to sew a straight line, thanks for earing with me and providing answers. O n S
  18. in my opinion, not that is valued much but nice job on both, did you hand stitch them? And did you find it hard to make the template for the gun that will fit it. I have a desire to make one like that for my xd mod 2 45. Again nice work.

I don't care what it looks like, it is so I can build a mock up and help work on my sewing skills as I get familiar with the 206rb, I was going to buy some belly from hobby lobby to do the same thing with the 40% off coupon the price isn't to bad so what every you have got in the 8, 9, 10 range again to build mock ups and learn how to sew, let me know what the postage would be for what ever you want to send.

I would be interested in some smaller sizes to make a few holsters with, as a beginner it would help on the pocket book especially when mistakes are anticipated. Thanks
  21. Thanks for the info I will look to see if I can find a utube video on it, again much thanks for the info.
  22. well being a newby to the machine and sewing in general I guess I now need to figure out how to adjust that pressure.
  23. Maybe I termed it wrong, it is not the serrations, the walking foot itself left the imprint on the leather, so is there any way to lighten that imprint and still move the leather along, I guess what I am asking is there a way to lighten up the impact of that impression and still have it move leather, it is late I just asked the same question twice my bad hope you can grasp what I am asking nighty nite.
