Latest items I have been working on
BradB replied to Jordan's topic in Books, Journals and Photo Albums
Does he want to wear it on the hip or the leg? I would think strapping it to the thigh would be more comfortable and a better carry, IMHO. As always your stuff looks great!! -
Thanks I appreciate it!

Hmmm.... September challenge???
-
I have got it!!! He is the guy on the episodes of CSI that makes the miniature crime scenes and send them to Grisom!!

Those look really nice! It would take me at lot longer then 1/2 hour to try and make one! I like the design, you probably should make 2 different styles thought. I personally like the belt slide style, the clip on has tendency to get pushed off my belt somehow.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I redid the piece that warped and used the blue painters tape, I had some difficulty getting it off, NO warpage!!! Next time I think I will try the poster board and rubber cement.

That is exactly what I am looking for!! If you could find it that would be (let's a trip to the 80's) Killer dude!!

Nice work Frog!! Did you sew a round on the bottom? I am thinking about making one for my friend who makes mead, some of the best mead I have ever tasted.... Hoping if I give him one of those I might get a bottle of mead lol.

Does anyone have dimensions/pattern for a kidney belt? They are about the same as a weight lifting belt aren't they? Brad

Thanks for the information Art! We actually have 1 (hand me down) and picked up another for parts, the parts machine actually had the manual and all attachments, table, plus extra parts. We had no idea it could do all the things it can do.

Does anyone even have any experience with one of these??

Organizing and Storing Chap Leather
BradB replied to bruce johnson's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
That looks great, I am gonna have to do that. I have just been rolling mine up and putting them in a closet but as I get more leather stocked up I am not gonna have enough room, this would probably solve the situation. How many sides can you get in an 8" tube? -
Those look really nice Johann! How did you do the background behind the roses, I really like it, could you post a closeup picture of it? Thanks, Brad

Are Singer Slantomatic 500's good for sewing leather? I believe it is supposed to be able to but how thick can you sew?

My take on a 10th Century Magyar tarsoly pouch
BradB replied to Tracker's topic in Historical Reenactment
I started looking at these after reading this post and ran across this site that sells buckles and mounts etc... Pretty cool!! http://www.urweg.com/list/pouches.html -

So this is what I am working on, just finished up the pattern last night got it cut out and am gluing on the liner. Out of the scraps I decided to make a keyring, it will have a couple of dome studs on it. Both will be saddle stitched and hopefully it all fits together the same way it did when made out of paper.... Wish me luck and cross your fingers!!! Here are the pics, I got to get my new camera out and read the manual... Taken with my cell.... Kind of worried about how easy this latigo scratches, the last pic has scratches from my fingernails when I was lining it all up to see how it fit.... The edges are still ruff, will trim and line them all up after it is sewn together.....

WOW! I can not wait to see this completed!! I just hope my wife does not see it.... If she does I will most probably be trying to make one lol.
