Brown64 replied to Prusty's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
That is beautiful! Did you emboss the design, or use a perfectly dull swivel knife? -

These are beautiful. -
Thanks for the advice, however this is just a practice piece to see if I could do faces. The real thing is going to be on a bible cover with him holding a baby, and I'll take more care to get the eye right then. I think I just burnished a little too deep, and made it more obvious than it should be. Here is a pic without the glare.

Thank you. I would say I have about three hours in it.

Yah the eye is closed I think I made the bulge a little too pronounced, and the flash on my camera makes a glare that is normally not there. I have a great deal to learn on photography. I have been looking at some of the threads on here that talk about a light box I think that is something I need to look into closer. Thanks for the nice compliment, and advice much appreciated.

Thanks for advice, and nice comment. Now to get started on the Bible cover Christmas is coming fast!

I was thinking the same thing looks kind of like natural but with a little more rendering. Thanks for the advice that's what I'm going with.

This is a practice piece because I've never tried faces before. Any advice would be appreciated. Is the way I highlighted it okay, or do you think I should color it? This is going to be a part of a picture I'm carving on my mothers Bible cover.

Nicely done! The only thing I see wrong is there is no makers mark. You don't want people to know who done this beautiful work? -
Okay I used a peddle lifting stamp. Does it look any better? The picture just don't seam to do it justice, anyone have that problem?
