  1. Very nice! Is it saddle stitched or machine? Can you show the caps more? I've looking at doing some for myself. I only saddle stitch. Thanks again
  2. It also looks like several layers. Just can't tell what or where they are.
  3. I don't believe one slot/ loop will hold in this position.
  4. Still confused about what the back is supposed to look like! Here's another drawing I just finished. Kinda! Pic has my knife. I've made a couple horizontal sheaths but I really like this design from pic above. Second picture is my horizontal design. It's 5 layers thick at the loop. In this drawing the 2 long horizontal lines is the belt. I'm missing something with this!
  5. Someone has been where I'm at working with sheaths. PLEASE HELP!!
  6. Something like this...
  7. Looking for a lot of help constructing a canted sheath for a fixed blade knife. In the picture I have a pattern drawn with the forward belt loop to be folded in half. This is for a left hip orientation. Trying to use a sewn in loop as seen in picture for the second belt loop. Not sure what I'm really doing with this. So allbof your expertise would really be appreciated!!
  8. Here's the back of another black with blue tiger thread. Unfinished edge as just finished stitching. Thanks for the kind words!
  9. I don't have that knife anymore to take a pic. But looks just like this one.
  10. Thank you!
  11. Haven't so far! I did let it dry for over a week before I went back to work on it. I did put several coats of Resolene on the outside 50/50 with water. I'm hoping it doesn't rub off. Time will tell.
  12. I would agree about matching colors. But that's what the person wanted.
  13. Made to order Patriotic skinner. AEB-L stainless blade. Blue micarta with red, white, and blue G10 liner. Dyed black Wicket & Craig veg tan sheath with opal blue tiger thread hand saddle stitched. Jagged Edge Custom Knives
  14. Made a little protective cover/ sheath for my bag / oblong punch after I had sharpened it. Nothing fancy but effective.
  15. Since I made myself a wallet (trucker/ biker) a couple of friends wanted me to make them one. Here they. Wicket & Craig veg tan dyed saddle tan with colonial tan tiger thread. Second is black veg tan with black tiger thread. Thoughts?
  16. Very nice!
  17. Very nice! I like the way you did the cap as well! Good job!
  18. Thanks for the replies. I'll look into the video's. TomE that looks really nice. I'll really have to work on mine to get that sharp. It's only time!
  19. I have an Osborn 1 3/4" bag punch/ oblong punch that is in desperate need of sharpening! The 1st one I ordered had dents on the cutting edge and sent it back. Second one wasn't as bad but wouldn't cut through paper let alone veg tan leather. How do you sharpen them? I did sand the edge (both outside and in) with 400 grit paper and the 600. Buffed on my buffing machine. Still dull ! Pic is the 1st one I received. The one I did sharpen I had to beat to submission with a leather mallet until finally went through. Thanks again!
  20. Buy direct from Wickett & Craig in PA.
  21. If using for a sheath I would drill a hole in the back for a rivet. Just put a thin board in between when drilling. Even a couple layers of cardboard would be fine. Just don't push to hard when close to being through.
  22. First off thanks for the help on the saddle stitching. Here's a pair of knives and sheaths. Wickett and Craig 8 1/2 -10 oz veg tan dyed blue. Saddle stitched with red and white tiger thread. Knives are AEB-L stainless steel, handle R/W/B resin with red and blue G10 pins. Made for members of the USA F Class team.
  23. How do you wrap a tool with leather? Specifically leather wrapping stitching irons/ chisels. I have Kevin Lee stitching chisels and they have a taper to them. I have seen them on different adds on a hobby site. What thickness leather would you use? Thinnest I have is some black veg tan 2-3 oz. What stitch would you use? Thank again
