  1. Anyone going to the Rocky Mountain Trade Show from the Midwest? I will be taking I-80 out of Joliet, Illinois. I want to be there Thursday through Saturday.
  2. I found it by using Google Images, http://www.abbeyengland.com/Store/tabid/77/CategoryID/31/Category2ID/16/catpageindex/6/Level/2/ProductID/68508/Default.aspx
  3. Just because the needles came with the machine, doesn't mean that they are the right size. I looked up needles for a 29-4 and it didn't state any size you listed.
  4. Thanks Troy, I went to Leather Wranglers site, looked at his blades, they look like they are flat which would be perfect. I could lengthen the blade by leaving more stick out of the barrel. Then I looked at the barrels he has available, that's where the problem arose, I have XL hands and need a 5/8" barrel, which he doesn't make.
  5. I have made numerous pairs of working shotgun chaps, but I want to start making shotgun show chaps with multiple layers of overlay/underlay material. I need to know of any secrets of keeping the layers from sliding, I have a Juki 563, do you use glue or double stick tape. Any secrets on how to cut the 1/4" overlay, and do you use a zipper foot to sew the overlay. I have seen a couple of DVDs for Chinks of Batwing, but I haven't seen one on Shotgun Show Chaps. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. I've tried that, They make the barrels adjustable for people with different size hands, you would think they would give you the option of a longer blade. Who knows. now that we brought this subject to the forefront, some manufacture would that heed and come out with a longer blade. Terry
  7. Here is the problem, I have XL hands and big fingers, when I use the swivel knife resting my ring finger on the blade, I leave fingernail marks. Does anyone make a swivel knife blade that is 1/4" longer in the blade part not the round post. I modified one blade by grinding off the middle part flat on one side and not inserting the blade fully in the barrel. That works, but I would like to get some better blades. I contacted Henly about some blades, but he doesn't manufacture extra long blades. Any information would be appreciated.
  8. What size leather point needles you have available for the 97-10?
  9. Are they still available?
  10. What make and model of sewing machine are you using?
  11. Great site for the guides.....how do you find out the prices?
  12. I just looked at the ad, $500.00 is a good price. Buy it and you will never regret it.
  13. Unbelievable.........I have never seen anything like that..WOW
  14. What is Bob asking for his swing away edge guide?
  15. How would you use a 794 system needle in a 97-10, I am not concerned about the diameter of the needle, but the length . What would you have to adjust to compensate for the shorter needle? I tried everyplace in the US trying to find 97-4 needles without any success. Would cutting off a small piece of the shank of an old needle to compensate for the shorter length, and after putting LockTite or Super Glue on it and inserting it in the needle bar work?
  16. Where did you find needles for the Singer 97-10, I want to use 277 thread and can't find any needles?
  17. Do a search on Ebay for a zipper foot for a walking foot machine, there is a left and a right foot. I would use it with an edge guide.
  18. Did you get my message in time?
  19. I'll take one of the books.. I left you a PM
  20. Why would you want a conway buckle and another buckle on the same collar? either one or the other. If you put the D ring close to the buckle, when you attach a lead, you will have to reach down and find the D ring. I have made hundreds of collars for hunting dogs, and used a center ring, it is positioned directly opposite of the buckle when the collar is buckled. This way anytime you want to snap the collar, you don't have to hunt for the D ring, the O ring is right there on top of the dog's neck.
  21. You might find it a little hard to stitch with the jaws of your stitching pony being broad and flat instead being narrow and tapered. Here is an example http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.wrtcleather.com/1-ckd/tutorials/stitch_pony.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.wrtcleather.com/1-ckd/tutorials/_stitchpony.html&h=422&w=515&sz=23&tbnid=sqi4YJ6wGe6MlM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=110&zoom=1&docid=nSRNvL7ipifJXM&sa=X&ei=0KQLT_mJCsa9gAf4lZyWBw&ved=0CCgQ9QEwAA&dur=25

I have had the same problem for over a year and only on LW. My solution: I am running Windows XP, I open a blank document; then open Windows Notepad, copy and paste the text into Notepad; then either cut or copy from Notepad into the document and it is left aligned and the text is not scrambled. Onerous but it works for me.

  23. I was wrong, first time this year, it is only 4" thick.
  24. What is more interesting is that he drove there.
  25. I use a 6" grave stone turned over for my tooling, I went to a grave stone maker and asked for one that was scrap (misspelled name) and bough it for $10.00. I use a 1 3/8" piece of 12" x 24" piece of granite I picked up at a place that makes counter tops, it was in their scrap pile and I paid $20.00. You have to think out of the box, and be creative.
