  1. Hi Folks, this is one of my latest projects, a Sax Sheath for an Alamanni about the year 600 p.C. The patterns for the carvings are from the Sutton Hoo Ship burial and the one on the mouth of the sheath was createt by me for the warrior. So it´s his figure. The complete sheath The "Mouth-Animal" especially for this Warrior Animals from Sutton Hoo
  2. Hallo Draxus, willkommen im Forum. Gruß Aulus
  3. Hello, after reading a lot of stuff about and finding no real answer (only: sharp). I think I will ask you all: How sharp is your swivel Knive? As sharp as a real knive (so it can hurt you) or more blunt? Dont´t get me wrong, my swivel knive works very well, but I´m gathering all informations about, maybe it could work better..?
  4. Somethings going wrong, there is no picture.
  5. Looks really cool! I like it!
  6. @Luke: The Colour was just Antique Gel Medium Brown. I let it on the leather for 15 Minutes. This makes a nice antique effect. @Gunter: I can send you this one Pattern (and to Ray too ) when my scanner is ready. To this time it is down and I have to repair it (but I have no time...) Usualy I make the pattern how the customer want his bag (belt, sword scabbart ect...), and give it away with the finished Projekt. I do not have this pouches in Stock (I have nothing in Stock normaly).

  9. Thanks Noah for the information! On the first pictures it looks like one pice of leather and I was really cracking my mind how you dit this .
  10. I know those knives from Basketweavers for example. My neightbour is a weaver an uses it to cut his willow-strings. A smaller one (Okkulier-Knive) is often used by gardeners for trimming trees. I agree that this is a multi-purpose knive / blade. I hope you can find out what the last owner has it used for. Was he working on the Docks or so? Banana knive is cool
  11. This is a really nice Belt! But I can´t imagine how you did the Buckle setting. The "Flap" must be the flesh side? Is that so? It looks like a Grain Side, that is really cool!
  12. Here´s my latest projekt, a wedding Gift for a friend of mine. Thank´s Tina for Inspiration (your Work and your Web-Site is GREAT!)
  13. Das hilft mir sehr wohl weiter, vielen Dank! Wo hast Du bestellt?
  14. Guten Tag, weis jemand ob es die Produkte von Angelus irgendwo in Deutschland gibt? Oder eine Firma die es für bezahlbar hierher liefert? Danke.
  15. This is really cool stuff! Really!
  16. Ok, "molding" what a nonsense, sorry for that. I mean "wetting" the Leather. I hope now you know what I mean and have some tips.
  17. I buyed a sprayer, thinned down with denaturated alcohol and got results of: TATAAA: Medium Brown! Thanks!
  18. Greets, here´s my newest Problem : In several times I´ve been reading about gluing the leather to cardboard to avoid stretching. Ok, this makes sense, but how and when do I do that? I think after molding but, is it before the leather turns to original colour or earlier (mean let it dry with cardboard on)? And when do I remove the cardboard and the rubber cement? And how? I know these are a lot of questions but I hope you can help me. Ah..for my first trys i took "arabic gum" self mixed because I hat this at home. But I have to wet the leather after stamping to remove the gule. Is this ok?
  19. Mee too! The only decorative Work on Leather from dark Ages I know are cutted lines (like decorative cuts with the swivel knive) and impressions like a circle with a dot in the middle (look "Warriors Belt" in hist. reenactment section).
  20. Hi Gisela, auch von mir ein willkommen im Forum! Schöne Arbeiten!
