  3. Hi folks, I´m just sewing around with my new Tippmann "Boss" and of course I have a Question: Wich presser foot will fit better for these stiching, a center foot or a zipper foot? Here´s my stitching example:
  4. This is really nice stuff! I like it very much! Great Job!
  5. I´ve seen this in the Journal and found it a good idea. So here´s my result:
  6. No, the design is not complete from myself. I´ve seen a picture like that on the Internet, then downloaded, changed something (cut of the Frame and some leaves, changed the Nose and a vew other little things) and made my Stencil.
  7. Oh, I think I have to explain something: The "Green Man" is a old myth in Europe, especially in France, Germany, Switzerland but also known in the rest of Europe. It´s an old God or Spirit that lives in the Woods or others say he is the Wood. He´s often shown in capitells of medieval Churches. Today nobody knows who he is and what he stands for. Only shure is, that he is really old, maybe one of the oldest gods worlwide.
  8. Here´s a Green man bag I´ve done 3 Weeks ago. Only for doing it, not for a customer. Inside it is one great bag, no slots or anything else. Buckles and screws are solid brass.
  9. Ah, a Wulfheodenas! Greetings from Germany, I´am dooing late 6th early 7th century reenactment for the last 15 years! Here in the Alamannia we have no such luck with our Spatha-sheaths. They usually where not made of leather over wood, they made a rust phloem-Wrapping over Wood. In the next month i will make one of this sheats for my own new Spatha.
  10. There is a Viking hill fort with Longhouses and Ship in USA? Really cool. Here in Germany we usual have to live in Tents when doing dark Age reenactment, there are not a lot of places, and when, it´s a museum and you can´t drive your film...
  11. Ok! I agree with you! The thing with viking or anglo saxon style was not my intesion, it was the centuries. In the book they often make no clear cuts, so you can find a viking / saxon sheath beneath a 14ct sheat, and i find it is not useful, because there are many people who not studied archeology who read this book. And I´ve seen Vikings with wrong sheats on reenactments and talked to them and they sayd: "Hey, its from the York finds"... My thing is to make clear, authentic repros of leather finds for reenactments or museums. And of course, you can do your sheath as you want as long you don´t say it´s a correct repro. So long, hope you don´t ge me wrong!
  12. This is from the York findings? I´ve read the book about York leather not too long ago and I saw that the authors make no clear cuts between viking age period and late medieval findigs. So, the carving pattern on your sheath looks more late medieval then viking age.
  13. Awesome work! This is really cool stuff!
  14. Servus alte Wurtschthaut. Mir redn jedz frängisch und deutsch um die hier zu ärchern ;-)

  15. Hi, I´m sitting here and thinking about making a quiver for Bowmen. So the question is how to decorate. Camo? Camo items are widely spreaded in the european bow comunity, so i thougt about to make a quiver and colour it in camouflage patterns. So, here is the question: Have any of you ever made a camo-paninting, camo-dyeing or so on leather? Have you some pictures (of course not for copy, only for ideas)? Any tips?
  16. Hi Folks, I have a question: Somtimes I´ve read about pre streching leather for Belts, Fenders ect.. Is this useful? Do you pre strech your leather? And when you do, at what stage of your project you will do (I think after carving?)?. Have a good Time!
