  1. What kind & brand of dye did you try to apply to it?
  2. I would remove old ripped piece or not, then sew a piece of leather folded around the front & back, then use a oblong punch & punch a slot in it. Then I would sew around the oblong hole you punched thru it to reinforce it all.

    Lace

See if "Y-Knot Lace" stocks it.
  4. It all depends on what leather you are using. Temperature depends on leather choice.
  5. Nice work. Looks good.
  6. Nice work. Looks great to me. What choice of leather did you use?
  7. Nice work! Looks great.
  8. The needle might be deflecting/flexing & is hitting the side of the throat plate. But usually when this happens it shatters the needle.
  9. Nice work. It looks great. Like your 2 tone dye work.
  10. Nice work. Have you thought about making a sheath similar to that, but adding a steel spring belt clip?
  11. I would say kangaroo lace would be a good choice. As it is strong & don't stretch much.
  12. Nice work. That is going to patina up real nice.. I can see spots it is already taking ahold.
  13. Nice work! Them are very classy looking. Love that stitch work.
  14. Keep your fingers out of the way & then guards are not needed.
