This is a six card holder wallet with four cash/extra card pockets, The back is Horween horse butt and the interior is French Calf hide from Springfield Leather. The interior is all the same leather and the same color just different light. The interior is machine stitched and the perimeter is hand stitched with white 277 twisted polyester thread. Sorry about the cut off picture.

I wanted to try and make a leather card/money holder out of thick leather and I have decided to give it a try. Here is a finished product. In the process of making that I have learned a few things that will be beneficial to my future experimenting. To polish that edge I have used only beeswax and some cloth. It did take quite a long time to achieve that, still not perfect but I am happy with the result. Few more pictures I have uploaded to my website if someone is interested: Elom-Leatherworks

Hello, This is my first post and my first project. I needed to make a new leather fishing pliers holster so I walked into my local Tandy shop a few weeks ago. A few $100 later I walked out with a bunch of tools, chemicals, and leather. I am still going to make that pliers holster, but made a wallet to start off with. I am brand new to leather crafting and only know what I know from this forum for a few weeks and YouTube. I plan on gifting this to a buddy for his birthday. I stamped his initials in it with some of my wife's metal stamps (not really made for leather). Made from 4/5 oz veg tan shoulder, stained USMC Black, and hand stitched with Lt Grey thread. A simple 2 pocket card wallet lined with material liner from Joanne's. I found the wallet template online. Very simple and I had fun making it. I don't think that I'll line the inside with fabric on the next one. The cement came through the fabric in some areas and was a little messy. Let me know what you think. Mark - Hollywood, FL

This was a small card holder I started near the beginning of this year. It was mainly to test dyeing techniques that I was going to use in a custom order I had for a large 8x11 notebook. I liked how the dyed flower came out but I never finished this up until just recently. I finally added the back pocket and stitched it all up and posted it to my Etsy site. Minimal card wallets don't get much more minimal than this! I like how it turned out and I definitely need to be using more color with my carvings.

I've been experimenting with marbling leather. I happened to have a piece that was the perfect size for JLS leather's horizontal card holder. So I thought I'd give it a go. It's a simple project but came out pretty well I think. It's my first time using tiger thread too. That stuff is nice! .8 navy thread was used. Open to critique and comments Cheers!

Hello all, Let me show you my latest project / product. It's a minimalist bi-fold card wallet. Made out of veg-tanned leather, hand dyed and sewn. Let me know what you think about it. Cheers!

OK, I am a newbie here but when I told a co-worker that I was doing some leather stuff he said he wanted a new money clip. I have also been wanting one so I'll "practice" on the first one and if it looks OK when I am done he will be my first customer! We both have similar money clips now, let me see if I can explain this without a pic. It is 2.75" wide, by 4" tall, with three card size pockets, the two outside pockets appear to be sewn onto the face and the middle pocket is about 3/16" in height and is collapsible due to the soft leather sewn between the two outer pocket assemblies. It has a 1.5" x 6" strip of leather with magnets sandwiched between leather and what appears to be a thin soft leather (or pleather.) One end of this assembly is sewn in between an outer layer and a lining on one side of outer pocket. The two outer pockets are then attached together via a 3/4" piece of soft leather between them, creating the collapsible pocket mentioned in the third paragraph. I am trying not to tear my wallet apart to make my template for the new one, so I am asking for some pointers on the best way to figure out what size to start out. Anyone have a template for something very similar? Any other info you can throw my way would be appreciated very much. I have some remnants that I believe are about 3-4 oz veg tanned and some 1-2 oz mission grain lining (hope this works) I am not planning on doing very much tooling on this one, maybe doing some basket weave on one corner of the outer pockets . Thanks in advance, Terry

Hey guys, I'm trying to make something like this, I've made a few wallets like these but without the lining, I really want to try and line the ones I'm making but I have a couple of issues that I don't know how to handle. I would like to know if there's a way that I can hide the fabric where the leather meets, so that I can burnish it and give it a cleaner look, rather than having the fabric exposed in between the leather, and I would also like to hear your suggestions about the edge of the wallet where there's only 1 layer of leather, in regards to the fabric, do I just glue it and the trim it flush and hope that it won't fray over time or should I fold the fabric, glue it to the leather and then stich it? I'm looking forward to read your suggestions and techniques If you're willing to share Cheers, Lourenço

Well, I had a little time over the holidays and thought I'd try making a few leather items. It started out with a belt...I couldn't find a buckle I liked anywhere, so I made one. Brass and Ebony, all hand sculpted, and I fashioned a simple belt to go with. Then I thought I'd try leather stitching....I always thought one needed a sewing machine, but I was definitely misinformed. That's when I found you all here at Leatherworker. How inspiring. I started with the two card holders to figure out how to stitch and what tools and materials to use and then just jumped in with the briefcase. Quite pleased with my first go. Comments and critiques are very welcome. I know that they are far from perfect, but please remember that these are my first items. Thanks for all the inspiration. Kai

First time poster, here. Does anyone know what makes the indented lines above and below the card slits? Is it a special tool and if so does anyone know what it is? Thanks!
