Hello all! This is the first thing I've made that is an actual project, and not just trying out stitches, or goofing around with stamps, using scraps. I would welcome suggestions; please bear in mind that this was made with a Tandy stitching awl, a scratch awl (for some of the thin lining leather), and no stitching clam, pony, or horse. I am "making do" until I can get a better awl and (probably) a pony. Can anyone tell me the functional differences between a clam, pony, and horse? (Other than the obvious differences in construction) Which is the most "user-friendly" for a beginner? What are the pros/cons of each? I'm guessing that any of them would be an improvement on my "two-rigid-cutting-boards-and-two-C-clamps" arrangement that I used for this cuff.

I saw something similar a while back and thought it was a cool color combination, and also a pretty awesome tribute to our law enforcement officers. I'd wanted to do something and I finally gave it a shot the other day. This is what I came up with. Comments, critiques, suggestions, questions, etc., are always welcome.

So I've finally taken some pictures of my projects. I've been a busy beaver My favorite by far is the embossed alligator wallet. I made one for myself as a tester and for some reason the embossed gator feels so amazing in the hand! Thanks for checking it out. There are several things that I know I could do better on each, but if you see something you would like to critique feel free

These cuffs are the first items I have sewn on my new Cobra 4 machine, #25 needle was used. -The brown cuff was sewn using 277 natural thread, I think it turned out nice stitch wise. -The purple cuffs were sewn with 346 black thread, the knots were showing on the back. With the black lining and thread you can't really see the issue. -The black cuff was sewn with 346 white on top and black on bottom, this is where the knots not pulling into the middle show up as you can see the white thread showing through. The machine is set up to sew with 277 thread, I did not want to mess with the settings before I tried a bigger needle as the charts I've seen state #26-29 needle size with 346 thread. Allan

I'm looking for a leatherworker to make me some bracelet blanks to use in conjunction with my paintings. I've recently refined a process of creating painted strips of flexible paper and sealing them so that they're watertight. I'd like to turn my paintings into cuff bracelets and was thinking the best way to go about it would be to inlay them onto a leather base. I need someone to make the bases fit me since I don't know the first thing about leatherworking. More details: Cuff width doesn't particularly matter, I can cut strips to fit. Closure style is up to you. Looking for a couple good prototypes with potential for future orders I can privide painting samples for prototype design, but would prefer to receive blanks and be able to install the paintings myself. Basic image of what I'm looking for attached, along with a not-so-great pic of a bookmark strip. Please respond here or email me at btomchek@aol.com with a quote. Thanks! Liz

Here are some cuffs I made the other day….. I did not like the big one with the yellow stones so I made holes instead, I actually like the look of the holes. I found sizing very finicky, a little length adjustment makes a big difference. What do you guys think, these are my first cuffs for my wife, daughter and me. Allan This is after I hole punched out the yellow studs. I have since colored the holes black.

Ello Ladies and Gents, I was wondering on a little input. I am new and starting a small Etsy shop and building up from there. This is one of the first items I will be listing. A very simple leather cuff with a stamped pattern, simulated stitching and a tiny bit of tooling(a couple in the pic are unfinished). What is a good and genuine price point to start these at? $10? $35? I have no idea. Any help is always appreciated! Thanks in advance -Ryan
