Like new KS Blade Punches (version 2)! Can be sold as a pair or single. This second version of KS Blade Punches are a bit slimmer and lighter for ease of use. The pricking irons are made of high-quality steel and have a nice weight to them. The heavier weight makes it easy to set the tool in the correct position, preventing it from moving on you. The width of the teeth are fairly thin (unlike many irons) and create a very clean, non-bulky opening for threading.

Hello Everyone, I I have recently joined this awesome website( today) and usually used to visit occasionally and be in awe at the awesome tools shared on this website. Anyway here in India ( Mumbai) we have a very large leather export market and i usually visit these places to see their manufacturing techniques and tools used. Its kinda difficult to gain access to their manufacturing units but over the period have made some friends who show me around their workshops I was amazed at their skills with very basic tools. Most of the head knifes are made from used files and circular saw blades and work beautifully in cutting and hold an edge well. I also got to see the manufacturing of these head knives by local knife sharpeners ( sorry no pics this time) I thought of sharing pics of some of the headknives. I did not take pics specifically for posting but will take more pics next time i visit. Pls PM me if interested in headknives, punches, and other leather tools. This is not my business ( and neither intend to make it ) but thought of sharing as i hardly saw stuff from India on this fantastic site. The price range for head knives/ round knives is of 7-10$ and hole punches $1, the most interesting and which i picked up 4 for myself are the clicker knives for only 3$ each !!!!!! which is very cheap by Indian standards too. However, i must say these are not the rates all over Mumbai, as i was visiting the area engaged in exclusive leather manufacturing so the shops in the area are providing tools for the leather industry at very competitive rates and very functional. Let me know if anyone interested in buying any of below head knives or clicker knives or any other leather stuff and i can send you (i am doing this on non-profit basis).

I'm hoping someone here recognizes this belt end punch and might know who makes them. I had a contact I was purchasing these and the consumables from but he has passed away. I believe he told me he was getting them from an Amish gentleman. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Hello, folks. I'm looking for the attached tools, or something equivalent - both brogue punches, and fixed dividers. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

I was in the middle of a large project that required a lot of embossing using my 6 ton press. The piece of granite I use as a stage shattered after one overly enthusiastic pull. There is a granite kitchen place a few miles from the shop so I headed over and explained my situation to one of the managers. He took me over to their scrap box and let me take whatever I wanted. I found a few perfect pieces of granite as well as a few quartz, which is even better. I asked him if I could make something for him from leather and he showed me his belt. It was about torn through from where he clips on his tape. I told him I would be happy to make a new belt, using the same hardware and I would reinforce the area where his tape clips on. I had some usable leather and wanted to make a usable belt with minimum effort. I am sure he will be thrilled. I took a picture of the back of the buckle are and took measurements but I have no idea what size to punch the holes. I found a Tandy buckle to have a look at the final belt but the 2mm holes I punched are too small for this buckle. I have to deliver the belt tomorrow and don't want to show up with a hand punch if they are too small. I also don't want them too big either. Based on the pictures, any suggestions about the best guess at hole sizes for the buckle? I don't make belts and this is probably the first one I have made in years! Thanks! Bob

Hello everyone! I am using a strap end punch with a poly mallet that just doesn't pack the punch needed to get through the leather. I've done some research on what mallet would be better to use and I keep coming up with a maul. Tandy leather sells them, however they are quite expensive and out of my price range. My question is, with a strap end punch, what is an effective, affordable mallet to use? Could I just pick up a 1 pound rubber mallet at Home Depot? Thanks for reading! -David

I came across a batch of old rusty leather working tools (various stamps, edgers, etc. - 26 pieces in total). I have two main issues on which I would appreciate some of your ideas: 1. identifying the intended use of particular tools 2. getting them back to performance Looks like a belt end punch with a slot ... but is closed at the back, so it is something else, I guess ... Looks like an edge beveler ... but the grooves are upside down, and there is no groove in the front - it ends with a point Looks like a round stylus of sorts ... but way oversized (the grid is 1cm x 1cm, or about 3/4"), so maybe for stamping ball imprints? And this is a batch of what looks like stamps, punchers or cutters. Leaf and flower designs, oversized again. Were they used for cutting out patterns, or for stamping their shape? Has anybody seen something like this before, and knows for what products/style they were used? There are other tools as well, but I did not include them here because they kind of make sense to me already, and there is a limit on total files upload size. The second issue is more practical ... how to restore them? Rust is heavy. I was thinking of using distilled vinegar, and afterwards oiling and scrubbing them with steel wool. Sharpening would probably be done by using sandpaper on a stick. Any experience?

Prefer the whole thing sold together but can peice if shipping is covered by buyer. My last estimation of the total cost of my kit was close to $1500 to $2000 I have stamps, new older and some no longer made, multipule swivel knives, rawhide mallets, rotary and stitching punches, edgers, wood strap cutter with replacement blades, stiching hourse, manuals and the like. the majority of the tools are kept in an old style machineist's tool box. Will be providing pictures of what I have in the next few days. Feel free to ask questions in the mean time.
