I own an online store and would like to begin selling premium watch straps and men's belts in addition to my regular merchandise. But, I need a reliable supplier with experience and the ability to meet production deadlines. I'm an amateur leathercrafter myself, but don't have the time to produce the quantities that I'll need. I have some basic design ideas and preferred materials (Horween, Wickett & Craig, etc.), but would love to explore concepts with you as well. Please DM for more details. Bonus points if you live near Boise, Idaho or Tucson, Arizona where our offices are, but I'm otherwise open to any location.

Hi Everyone I have enjoyed viewing the topics on this site for sometime, but once I turned creating leather goods from a hobby into a business, I knew it was time to join. I may at some point have a tip or two to help others, or need a few myself. My business is J. Scott Handcrafted. I am located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. A coastal town. I create watch bands, slim card holders and am beginning patters for shaving kits, mouse pads etc. I prefer to work from scratch or make a pattern for the work at hand. Next creation I start again with a fresh pattern. This is slower than using templates etc., but suits me at least for now. It also allows me to make small changes and keep the process of creating fresh, rather than same each time. My main leather is Kangaroo, which is quite popular here. I only sell within Australia, due to the issues of exporting Kangaroo leather (forms, permits etc.). Here is my site handmade leather goods Here are a few pics of the watch bands done recently. One is Australian Barramundi, One is Cane Toad, shrunken grain Sheep, which is my favourite. And last is snake. All four have Kangaroo under- lining.

Hey folks, Not too sure if this is the right place to post a passion project turned into a Kickstarter Campaign. I've been working with leather for about a year now - about the same amount of time that I've been working on a new watch startup called Alberta Watches. It only made sense to combine the two! So I teamed up with Robert Nurse, an amazing Calgary based leather crafter and saddlemaker to make some unique hand stitched straps for the watch. He's helping with the clicking (once the dies are made), and the skiving, while I'll probably do the stitching. They're nothing too crazy, really: few stitches to save time, and unfinished Horween leather. But it makes for a nice rugged look I think. I hope you guys like it! If you're interested in seeing more you can check out the campaign here: http://kck.st/1IPsZfE

Hey all, I've been doing my watch strap ends with the Tandy Safety beveller, but I wonder if there's a better way? I skive the ends where they wrap around for the pin and buckle. Could I use a machine like this splitter to get more uniform skives? I'm working with 4oz CXL as well. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hello everyone. I'm in the process of designing a series of watchbands and am looking for a strapmaker in the NYC region to create the prototypes. Looking for hourly rates and/or per-strap cost. Straps will be primarily leather and standard stitch work. Please send your info to nystraps@gmail.com
