Members Handstitched Posted October 17, 2022 Members Report Posted October 17, 2022 G'Day, I don't always do watch strap repairs, but this one turned out quite well. The client was quite happy too . The leather for the main strap, x2 layers of 1.2mm veg tan , dyed , glued & stitched. The other straps x 1 layer of 1.2 mm VT , thinned out a bit bit to feed past the pins on the watch . Machine : Pfaff 60, leather needle , thread: Gutermann upholstery . It has a bit more ' body' to it than the regular industrial thread I use. The only thing was that I have big hands, and the buckles are small ...= fiddly = sore hands , lol HS Quote
Contributing Member Samalan Posted October 17, 2022 Contributing Member Report Posted October 17, 2022 So you said it's a watch strap repair, but this looks like a new strap. Nice job Quote
CFM chuck123wapati Posted October 17, 2022 CFM Report Posted October 17, 2022 you nailed that one!! Quote
Members PastorBob Posted October 18, 2022 Members Report Posted October 18, 2022 Great job on that! lots of buckles for sure. I love wearing watches, but my day job is in Food manufacturing and we can't wear rings, watches, or necklaces... Quote
Members Brokenolmarine Posted October 18, 2022 Members Report Posted October 18, 2022 Nice work. The key here is the guy was happy. Quote
Members doubleh Posted October 18, 2022 Members Report Posted October 18, 2022 Looks like a replacement, not a repair to me. Nice work, whatever you want to call it. Quote
