dcv Report post Posted January 27, 2023 This is a piece that my Mom bought at an estate sale before she passed away. She was a wonderful sewist and upholsterer. Our daughter, who lives in Texas, asked what I could do to finish this loveseat. Challenge accepted! I had to create a seat and then build it up with foam and batting wrapped in burlap followed by the hair on hide leather. I learned a lot and she loved the result. PastorBob Report post Posted January 27, 2023 Wow. That is some piece of work! How long did it take you to finish it up? Did you have to do anything to the wood?
dcv Report post Posted January 30, 2023 Thanks for all of the kind words. Bench time on this was probably 8-10 hours. I did a lot of research and posted questions due to the fact that I had no idea what the original seat looked like or what type is was. As I stated before, I learned al lot. The wood on the loveseat was in very good condition. I just did a quick clean and then applied a wood polish.
YinTx Report post Posted February 2, 2023 Looks great! How did you get the hair on to not stick out as it rounded the corner from the top to the front side?
