Vintage chaps often had pockets but usually exterior ones... last week I did see pair advertised with "rare inside" pockets like Roland has made.

Roland more flowers, leaves and vines... less back ground!!!

"Oh my God....I beseech thee grant me the grace to remain in Thy Presence; and to this end do Thou prosper me with Thy assistance, receive all my works, and possess all my affections" Brother Lawrence c.1614-1691

Yes, still working on improving my drawings. I'm working on how to fill up the space a little better and keeping a better circular flow of the carving. Each one gets a little better... :)

Mighty fine leather work and your carving is just outstanding!

Handmade doesn't have flaws it's just built-in character.

Really nice work. Your father must love them.

Thank you! He does love them but he hasn't used them yet because he is afraid he will scratch them up.

I find chap yokes to be one of the most difficult patterns to draw.  Odd shape, small spaces next to large spaces.  It's hard to design a pattern that flows right, but then I have trouble with that even on an easy space to fill.

You did well for having no existing pattern to follow.

Tell your dad to get those suckers dirty. You didn't make them to hang in the house!

Get your dad to wear them in public if you want more chap orders.

I know nothing about chaps but they look great.

I'd say your drawing is excellent. In my opinion the background to floral design ratio is perfect for this application, as well as the flow too. And the actual tooling is super nice. I dream of the day I can draw something out like that and tool it that well too.
