Members Madmax500000 Posted October 7, 2018 Members Report Posted October 7, 2018 So this is another shotgun cartridge pouch/case I just finished made this one for myself. 6oz veg and 8oz oil tanned for the back panel made my own lace from goat veg. Inlay with some embossed croc from a Brahmin brand purse I picked up at goodwill for $3. Has a fold down strap to keep your shells from falling out as well. Quote
Rockoboy Posted October 7, 2018 Report Posted October 7, 2018 WOW! Exceptional job. I like the lacework ... and the croc ... and the strap ... and the colours you used! Just WOW! garypl Posted October 7, 2018 Report Posted October 7, 2018 Very nicely done! How did you make the strap to hang it on your belt? Gary Quote Cowboy 4500, Consew 206RB-4
bikermutt07 Posted October 7, 2018 Report Posted October 7, 2018 Beautiful job. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members battlemunky Posted October 7, 2018 Members Report Posted October 7, 2018 Uh, yeah! That is full of win! I like how the lace looks a bit soft and it makes the entire piece look quite a bit older than it is. Your colors are great and compliment each other in every way your eye hits the piece. I like this a lot. Quote
alpha2 Posted October 7, 2018 Report Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) Well, great. Now I have to make ANOTHER shell case. At least I have something spectacular to aim for! And, those are some hi-velocity shells you have there! Jeff Edited October 7, 2018 by alpha2 Quote So much leather...so little time.
Members Madmax500000 Posted October 7, 2018 Author Members Report Posted October 7, 2018 This is how the strap moves out of the way. There just attached with some 1/4 “ Chicago screws. Then the belt loop has snaps at the bottom for easy on off. Quote
Members Madmax500000 Posted October 7, 2018 Author Members Report Posted October 7, 2018 This is the back of one I did for a customer last week. You can see how the belt loops are attached. Quote
Members bullmoosepaddles Posted October 7, 2018 Members Report Posted October 7, 2018 That is gorgeous. You realize it will be a shame to arrive at the range with that cartridge case and not have a matching gun case. OOPs did I say that out loud. Great work thank you for sharing. Quote
Members Madmax500000 Posted October 7, 2018 Author Members Report Posted October 7, 2018 Now look what you’ve done guess I better get started. Quote
garypl Posted October 7, 2018 Report Posted October 7, 2018 Max - the last photo shows the rear of the case and I am curious how you stitched it to the sides. You did nic3 lace work on the front - did you bevel the edges on the rear to stitch them? Any glue used on the joints? Thanks again for sharing! Gary Quote Cowboy 4500, Consew 206RB-4
Members Madmax500000 Posted October 7, 2018 Author Members Report Posted October 7, 2018 The back panel is box stitched to the rest of the box and it was glued first. no glue where the Lacing is. But the picture showing the back of the box is not the same one from above. For some reason I don’t have a picture of the back of the one I did for myself. But still the same process Quote
