This was a custom order from a customer.  She wanted a lanyard to hold her ID and have floral carving on it.  It was my first time making something like this but it turned out to be a fun little project and she loved the final result.  Going to need to make a few more of these to have in stock.

That may be the best backgrounding work with a seeder I've ever seen. Your floral work is really nice too :)

I noticed the excellent backgrounding too! Not that the flowers aren't first rate too. I doubt that anyone that wasn't into carving leather would be immediately drawn to the background, but we are!

That's known as a bar grounder.  And yes they take quite a bit of practice to keep it even.  That is one of the 2 backgrounding tools I started out with many years ago.

I still make hamburger with my bargrounders.  One day I may be half as good as you!  Nicely done.

Thanks YinTx, it just takes a steady hand, a good eye (or eyeglasses) and practice!

It's funny what we are drawn to when we look at these things.

Nice job with the whole thing but like others have indicated, very nice job with the bar grounder. It is nice to see a superb example as this is one tool I am trying to get the hang of.
