If the motor ran backwards, wouldn't the machine run the wrong way and not stitch? I must not be understanding something. Attached is the manual for that motor. SMA-MAN-G-Series-Manual.pdf

I'm having an issue with my HO HSING G60 servomotor. I'd like to activate the reverse stitching function when I press the heel on my machine's pedal. I went into the motor's configuration menu and enabled the function, but when I press the pedal, nothing happens. The motor only runs in one direction and doesn't reverse. Could someone please help me with this problem? Thanks in advance.

Like those above said, as long as you don't sell it or actively market it I think you are OK. And I still think you'll be OK if you sell it together with the car some day. Brgds Jonas

Thanks for the quick response. I'm not sure what you mean by raising the middle foot "by hand", but everything seems very rigid, unless I turn the wheel. If there is anything else in it that I should be looking at, LMK.

Depends on what exactly you want to cut; I bought a picture framers matte cutter. Its hand held and meant for cutting picture board to make mattes. They can be bought for about £/$10 - £/$20 Like this

What thickness of leather, and do you need the bevel on straight or curved edges? I changed out some parts on a bottom feed bell skiver to create a beveled edge on 9-10 oz veg tanned leather. In the example below the angle is less than 45 deg. - probably 30+ deg - but I think I can get a steeper angle by adjusting the roller foot.

I think rocky mountion leather supply sells a aluminum model edge cutter with a 12" length. It does a 45° & 60° bevel.

Can the middle walking foot be raised by hand (with motor unplugged)? Looks like the feed dog timing is also off. (Normally needle would be at bottom dead center, and the feed dog at maximum height, when the feed dog is halfway through its front to back stroke.) Do you have a manual?

I'm searching old threads to figure out why my 111w153 longest stitch is 6/in. I've reset everything according to Uwe's videos ( I would be sewing without them). Something caught my eye here above "eccentric gib locking screws weren’t in the groove" . Is there a video or diagram showing this adjustment? Thanks

@dikman I bought the plastic templates out of China on ebay. I've found them on Temu as well. They're very cheap. About £/$5 for all five Just the other day I found clicker dies for a couple of them on Temu. I bought the elephant one for £11

Anyone know of a commercial 45 degree edge cutter?... something that will accommodate more than straps?... or even an existing product you know of that might be modified to achieve the angle? Thanks...

I used a pattern from a Romania leather guy off of YouTube. I think he's probably pretty well known. My hands hurt afterward, but I learned a lot and am excited to start my next project. I want to make large leather goods like this...maybe a duffle bag, hand bags, or a backpack next. I don't want to be a seller of my projects. I wanted a simple key fob to put on a vehicle fob for identification purposes. On the back I put my cell phone number and on the front a simple design I could do with repurposed tools on hand. The design is the one on the side of the vehicle, and was simple enough to get a clean, clear, debossed design with what I had. Made it out of some scrap, debossed it, put a split ring on it and glued it, dyed, stitched, and sealed it, and it was done. It's in my pocket right now. But after making it, started to wonder if it's legal. No, I'm not going to sell it; it's the best thing I've done stitch-wise, but it's not that good. But how legal is it?

Sore hands - yep, but it gets better as you do more sewing! Finding a suitable machine under $400 is a big ask, not impossible but.....read that article AlZilla linked to and then reread it to gain an understanding of what you're looking for. You'll likely be faced with either continuing to hand sew or upping your budget.

A very quick search on google (not hard to do ) immediately shows it is a high speed single foot garment machine.

Fred, those little animals are brilliant! If you made a clicker die to stamp them out in bulk or second choice use a laser to cut them out your cost will be minimal. Where did you get the patterns?

Hey Rodney! I have never been a bareback rider but have contributed to a few pots, though. I really don't think that your riggin' would be a good place to skimp or DIY. I think it would be a cool project. I really wish you the best! JM2C, Jim
