  1. That's very nice looking. You do good work.
  2. Try here: http://www.bighousedaddy.com/bighousedaddy...er_patterns.htm I had some of these patterns, but lost them when I had to reformat.
  3. Very nice look. What is in the table under the seats, some of your sheath work perhaps?
  4. Corter, you are an answer to prayer. I would like to get in too. Send me a pm if/when you get to me and let me know what you need.
  5. Thanks kagekeeper. I was thinking about using the screw on type with some Loctite because it's going on something that will not see a lot of stress.
  6. That's really cool Larry. You said you used the same inside as Tandy has. Was that out of one of their biker wallet kits? Weight leather did you use for the inside and what will you go to?
  7. How old is your daughter, that tribal flower is really cool. Looks good. What did you use to get the shine?
  8. bcurrier, find another granite guy. I got a 12 x 24 piece that they cut to size and gave me a tour of their operation free for the asking. leatherpoker, I have a marble from Tandy which is good, a granite counter top piece which, IMHO, is better, and a 12 x 24 tombstone that cost $55 that is flush mounted to my bench that I think is best. Price & availabilty and how dedicated you are to this hobby (substitute addiction or obsession here). If you don't want to sink a bunch of money, try the counter top option to start.
  9. That's really nice. I love the way the lining looks. Really smooth. What weight leather is that?
  10. Ken, thanks for the encouragement. Swede, The chopper wallet is one of my favorites too. The flames on the first one were a real pain in the butt. The orange piece is an inlay behind the wallet back, then the guy wanted stitching around the flames. Lots o' hand stitching. Didn't know if you noticed, but the rivets and grommet on the Celtic one are brass that I distressed because the customer wanted it to match his grunge bike. Ian, I don't have a shot of the inside of that wallet. I either did one plain pocket of mission grain pigskin on each side or used a Tandy premade inside. Can't remember which. MadTailor, I didn't know you had migrated over here. Good to hear from you. Thanks for the compliments.
  11. I think I posted some or all of these pre-crash, but I thought I'd do it again. All of this work was done before my accident. My tooling hasn't quite made it back to this level yet. Got a couple more that I want to post, but I have to resize them first. Thanks for looking. All constructive criticism is welcome.
  12. If I was going to do something bigger, I'd use something that would be proportional. Guess I could break down and buy one of those draftsman's templates with all the holes in it.
  13. You also asked about the proper radius for corners. I use a quarter on the wallets I make. Gives me a good radius.
  14. Very nice work. I like how you put the cutout in the top of the belt to make the gun stay in the same position. You make your belts on a curve to fit more naturally. How does one figure that curve?
  15. Thanks Luke. I'll hunt' em up at the local Tandy. Yeah I'm still hanging in. To ornery to quit. Sending you a PM.
  16. I can get rivet type Sam Browne snaps at Tandy, do I need a specific setter/anvil to set them? Does anyone make a screw on Sam Browne snap?
  17. I bought some clear plastic material from Hobby Lobby for that. You buy it by the yard like fabric.
  18. Love the scrollwork and the inverted bevelling. I bought the first lesson on Victorian carving from Painting Cow. Ready to try my hand at that. Very nice.
  19. Very nice. Cool idea with the magnets. I made a similar one to this for a Buck knife. The wet molding made it hold so well it actually clicks when it seats into the sheath. Can't shake it out, I tried. The spider web is a nice touch, too.
  20. I have realized the importance of doing things now and not putting them off. I had a motorcycle wreck in Sept 07 and broke my neck. Now I'm paralyzed from the waist down, and all those projects I was going to get around to aren't going to get done until I get out of this stupid chair, or they're being done by friends. Gotta live in the now and not procrastinate. (That's why I haven't posted any work. My tooling is still not where it was before the accident, so I'm spending my time practicing.)
  21. walletman, I do mostly wallets and I use waxed Irish linen thread from Royalwood, Ltd. http://www.royalwoodltd.com/cat14-17ar.htm I use mostly their 7 ply, but did use the 4 ply to do some very small custom stitches. Hope this helps.
  22. What braid did you decide to go with? Very nice work.
  23. That's a great looking toolbag, tazzmann. Very tight and clean lacing.
  24. That's a cool looking seat. That patch holder is going to be very impressed, I'm sure. So will his brothers. Might be some seats for them in your future. Great looking work.
