I agree with what BillyP said. This forum is a great place to exchange knowledge. There isn't anywhere else on the 'Net like this that I can find.

Well, skull holster done

Very nicely done holster. Thanks for the pattern -
Kate: I don't know about rust on the tank. It was given to me shortly before I got hurt last year, so I never really took the time to look at it. I have some friends coming over this weekend to do some work on my house, so I thought I would get one of them to bring it in the house so I could look it over and maybe get it running. singteck: Sounds like a good idea, if it needs compressor oil, what should I use if the owners manual doesn't specify. Thanks guys.

My boss gave me an old compressor, an Air Force I believe, and a a Passche single action airbrush. The compressor has been left outside, and I would like to clean it up and see if it still works. I'm kind of hesitant to just plug it in and throw the switch to see if it works. Are there any steps that I need to take to make sure I don't burn it up right off the bat? I think I have the manual for it, or can probably find it online.

That makes sense. So if it leans to the left, are you stabbing from the left or right? Man, I would love some BBQ. If I can ever get over there, I'll give you a call. Keepin' busy?

This may be a dumb question, but why do the jaws lean so much to one side?

Thanks for the link. If everyone hasn't checked out his site, you should do so. There are some really great pieces being shown there. -

Once again, outstanding work. Do you have a website or somewhere online that you display your work? Thanks for the pattern and the inspiration. -

Glad to see you back. Very classy looking wallet. -
That's really a nice job. The stitching grooves are nice and deep and the stitches are tight and uniform. Do you hand stitch? From a functional point of view, why a tactical knife and a hunter together? Very very nice workmanship and the Oxblood color is very rich. Great looking work. Can we see the knives or have contact information on the makers? Also, what's the little loop on the left side of the sheath?

Latest Work - Journal and wallet
ETW Grumpy replied to BradB's topic in Books, Journals and Photo Albums
They both look really good. Your stitching is tight and even, the color looks good. What color is that, by the way? Stain or dye? Can't see the edges, so can't comment there. You should be proud, you turned out a couple of good pieces. Keep at it! -
Does that yoga mat absorb much water when the seat gets wet?

I just got some calf remnants from the local Tandy store that I use for wallet pockets. It's 1.5/2 oz. I don't know if it's some scrap my local store had after a project or not, but they do sell tooling calf that might work for you.

Those are awesome. You do the most amazing stuff. Do you have more pictures?

Site looks really good. I like the fact that you can click on the pictures to get a bigger one. I like your cell cases. All your work is tight. What color/finish do you have on your personal gun leather? You might put the navigation menu that you have on the top of each page at the bottom as well. Keeps people from having to scroll back to the top to click on another link. Not a big deal now since you have a few things on each page, but as you grow, that might be helpful. Great job and keep us posted on how it's working for you.

That looks really good. Did you use the original seat cover as a pattern for the leather? I'm supposed to do a stock Softail seat and I'm kinda nervous about cutting a bunch of leather and then finding out it's wrong. Have you taken any in-process pictures, or could you take some as the assembly process begins? Can't wait to see that all done.

Another wonderful piece. What font did you use?

Very very cool. I, too, like the way it runs through the slots and how you went minimalist with the use of space. I would have tried to put more in there and probably cluttered it all up. You did a great job. And on 1 oz leather too. Very impressive.

First wallet
ETW Grumpy replied to roadking07's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Welcome. Looks really good. Your stitches look even and well done. The color is good and the tooling looks good. My only concern is that the design will flatten out over time where the bend is. Overall for a first wallet, it's really good. Keep posting pics of your work. -
Very cool Roger.

Let's see, come up with something absolutely rediculous, market it to extremely rich people, charge 40 times more than it's worth.......sounds like a great business model to me.
