This is a full Targe shield pattern. I found it on the internet but it was only a quarter of the pattern and you had to tape pieces together to get the whole pattern. I did that and then had it scanned and made into a full pattern. So anyone want to do a celtic cross shield here is a pattern for you. Merry Christmas everyone and have a safe new years!!!!!! Picked Up An Old Skiving Machine Need Some Help With.
johnggrg replied to johnggrg's topic in Leather Tools
The part that broke is behind the turn knob that is in the middle in front of the wheels. The broken piece is still behind the knob. Ok tried to add a pic and it posted the same one. Not sure how to show the other picture before it was restored. But any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. John -
Hi everyone. I picked up an old Progressive shoe Mach'y, leather skiver. It's a hand crank but thought someone here might have some information on it. Did an internet search and couldn't find anything except that the company went out of business in 1915. I will try to add a picture. There was a part in front of the wheels that was broke and wanted to know if anyone knew what the part might have looked like. I thought a feeding ramp of some soret that was attached with the screw in the middle. Please let me know anything you can. It would be greatly appreciated. I have restored it

Does anyone have a pattern for this? I would be willing to buy the pattern if someone has it. Please let me know. Thank you. John P.S So what kind of plastic would be used for the window anyway? -
Still waiting on it should have it by Monday. Not sure about something 1 inch thick. But it has adjustments on the locking piece if it is a thicker piece. Not sure what the limit is. But will be perfect for what I do. As far as pinching my fingers? I can only say I hope I would learn after the first time it happened not to put my fingers in that spot again...I hope. I will be able to answer a little better ounce I get it and use it. But it seems like a better way then the originals. Maybe Dan will pop in and explain a few things better then I can. But I can't wait to use it. It will make things alot easier and more comfortable to do. And that is worth every penny. I will update after getting it. John

So anyone have any thoughts about the new style closure on the horse? John
-
Hi everyone. A while back I started a tread and asked if anyone new who had a stitching horse for sale or knew someone that made them. I got a response from a fellow member Dan saying he could build one for me. We talked about what i wanted and ways to inprove the old style horse. He came up with a new closure for the jaws. I should be getting it today but he made a video for me to share and it's on youtube. I thought I would share. Dan does amazing work and really thinks out of the box. I haven't recieved it yet but as you will see in the video it's awesome. The jaw is 6 inches wide front to back. Here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWHUJ1Fnk9Q

Does anyone know how the chest and back plate armor goes together? The holes don't line up or I don't understand how it goes. Trying to make it out of poster board to see how it goes together. Any help would be appreciated. thank you. John -
I give it a try. I have to get ink first. The one I printed was done at a print shop. The front and the back was on one sheat of paper. I could just cut it down the middle and seperate the two and go back and have him scan it in and print each one on its own sheat of paper but a larger size. Thank you for the help I appreciate it. I'll give that a try and see if that does the trick. Thanks again. John

Thanks for the responce. The pattern has front and back plates to it. It looks like when put together would fit a toddler or teddy bear. It is really small when printed. I can spread my hand wider then thje chest plate is thats how small it is. Could easly fit a small dog in it's current size. So not sure what to do.. I wanted to make it so it fit about a 46 chest. But that is ALOT bigger then it is now. So any halp would be great. Thank you. John

I recently downloaded the midevil pattern pack listed by mrdabeetle. I printed the chest and back plate pattern and it was very small. How would I resize the pattern to fit a 46 chest???? I would greatly appreciate any help with this. Thank you. John
