I asked for a quote for one from China and the freight was twice the cost of the machine. -
This post is from Facebook. Anyone know the maker?

I managed to find a parts list and a couple of sources for binding attachments. You're right about it not being the best feed for binding and I have a Pfaff 335 and Juki 4111 that do a good job, but one customer requests zig zag stitching and the Adler was available locally at an auction so I thought I would try it. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the link. I couldn't find any reference on the usual Adler site. Now I have to find a way to setup an edge binder so I need a feed dog, and feet. Anyone have a parts list. Apparently it is a discontinued machine but if I can get part numbers for the binder feet and feed dog or the whole binder kit that will help.

I bought an Adler but the model number plate hasn't identified it on any Adler site. ADLER K098-90002 SINGLE NEEDLE ZIG ZAG MACHINE Anyone recognize it ?

I use a "leather stiffener" for stiffening veg tan products. It looks and smells like shellac used on wood but I buy it from a chemical company that makes finishes for leather. You could try it on some leather to see if it works for you

I have inherited a strap roller that is not complete. Looking for construction details for the rolls and drive mechanism if anyone has photos?

I had been using a Pfaff 545 for leather and nylon products for years. Since I needed another machine I bought a new Sunstar 560. For the last 5 years, it has been magnificent. When I got an order that needed another machine, I bought another 560. Today, I have a buyer coming to look at the 545. Hope he takes it since it needed a lot more attention than the Sunstars. I highly recommend them.

My Techsew 5100 has a feed dog problem. As the needle descends the feed dog moves up, but also forward which causes the needle to deflect forward also. Their youtube instructions don't mention any adjustment for this problem. Does anybody have adjustment details?

Anyone know how this is used?

Well, the rebuilt one from the German distributor is US$7,200 so this one and the parts machine are probably worth US$5000 -

Re: the Protos stitcher, I have one working and the one in the photo that needs parts. Since the working one is so good, I don't need the other one, so it is for sale. -
and here's what happens when you don't lubricate the machine. Spring loaded cam in center got seized on shaft and feed screw broke off. Now a major job or replacing screw.

It was an outsole stitcher with a factory option of being a Corner Stitcher. Attached is a brochure showing what it was used to make. protos-0619.pdf -

If you get bored with the Petersen, I have a Protos you can fix. -
I made a metal burnisher but needed to cut vertical slots in the channels before it would work properly. It was made on a metal lathe with 1" rod. I was burnishing veg cases that had 3 layers and it worked well. One thing I noticed in the drawing offered was the slots appear too deep to just do the edge. If the leather goes in to far, the tool will mark the surface of the leather.

Also the blade needs to be SHARP as a razor.

White Dye
casemaker replied to Hooper26's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
It's a custom blend from a local chemical company. They don't sell retail, or small quantities. I can sell a quart of it but shipping Fedex Ground will make it very expensive. The white resin is $20.00 and Shipping would be $40.00
