  1. I knew all along Billy is a fun guy! B.
  2. Ok, though I bot one a few years ago from Hidecrafter and Andy sharpened it for me before shipping, it was 'never' used! It is still very sharp, I only played with it with some scraps for a simple reason that my working space is too small. From what I've read and seen from videos, you cut them with the pointed edges most of the time and the 'middle' part is used for skiving or 'wobble' when you're coming to the cutting end or rounding a cut. Most cutting will be done on flat surface with the exception of trimming edges of certain projects. Many who had mastered it will use it to cut almost anything for slots to fringes. Sorry, that all I know. Attached is a pic of that round knife I bot from HC and the one on the right is one I bot locally before the shop went bust. I was told that the Hong Kong shoemakers used them. Both were coated with metal polish cos they're white elephants. B.
  3. I've seen on TV in Australia, they use that to cut pan cakes/ pizzas.
  4. Hello Mark, Just curious, is that knife made out of a railway nail/bolt? B.
  5. Sam Browne Belt Button?Cut a metal plate off the cookie can lid, punch two holes might give you a better foundation. B.
  6. Verlane once mentioned on the other list that she used a kind of plastic to make craftaids. Something like you trace the pattern ( mirror image ) on the plastic, go over the lines with a vibrating tool ( engraver? ), the 'lines' will pop up and you got yourself a craftaid. Can't remember the name of that plastic, maybe someone can ask her again. B.
  7. There is an article 'Leather Fireman's Hat ' by Frank Zigon in MIWL Jan 81. No pattern only pics. If my memory serves me right there is also another one with LCSJ 2006/2007. Too lazy to update so can't tell off hands. Just a few days ago I watched it on ' How It's Made ' on the Discovery Ch. Good luck. B.

Johanna, thank you! Here is another someone sent me, http://easybeadpatterns.com/ B.
  9. Try asking the other list you're in. I think someone posted a necktie awhile back. Bruce, I bot one for $80/- a few years ago from someone and he 'may' have an extra but am not sure. It's not convenience to mention his name here. (Not who you think he is, it was his friend). My emails to you in the past were bounced! B.
  10. How about covering it with some fancy needle work? It's easy, just half hitches over and over. Let me know. B.
  11. Hello, Here is a checkbook cover I did for a friend few years ago using that X514. That was my first and maybe my last, kind of funny feeling while stamping, oh like blur hope you know what I mean. Ok, I'll try again to attach the pic cos I did that a few mins ago and after clicking here and there it said time expired! Wish I know more with this kind of forum. Ok.now tell me how come the attachment is at the top and not at the bottom?
  12. I'm a lefty but write with my right so don't know how to vote?
  13. It was more than a year ago I mentioned a circle cutter that can cut from 1.8 to 17 cm. without leaving a needle hole. I understand that some members over there had ordered it thru sites in the US. Here is one from Japan I think: http://www.lion-office.com/nt/circle.html The one I'm using is C - 1500P
  14. Ok, here is something my friends use that may not work for others. Punch a hole ( with a nail ) at the top edge of the cap/lid, tilt the can and load the glue with a half inch flat brush. The brush will be harden like a piece of wood but shaped like a chisel and that's what the idea is all about, hard and yet flexible. As for me, I use a plastic bottle, drill a hole on the plastic cap. For small project I squeeze the glue on my finger and for larger piece, I use the cap as a spreader as I squeeze rather than many had mentioned using plastic cards. Place a scrap piece of leather over the hole after use.
  15. Maybe you could ask Andy directly at denver@leatherfactory.com
  16. Nice bag Mike! Am just curious about that back outside piece of that bracket, if it is to be attached to the windshield with a bolt & nut then could it be substitued with a pc of leather? B.
  17. Should have thanked the one who leads you there. B.
