  1. If its not for Billy, I would have not talked to so many friends in this leather world! Here are some pics but am not sure if its for EC.
  2. To prevent 'over-cutting', I would scribe the parallel lines between the two holes then use a bag chisel to cut out the slot. A bone folder or a strip of canvas/denim works well for burnishing the inside?
  3. Am thinking of an old typewriter without the ribbon?
  4. Here are some pics of the stool. The first are of rattan legs and the rest is the same seat with ABS plastic legs from the shipyard. The 3 bolts as mentioned are used to fasten them together and yes, this one all ends were cut at an angle.
  5. I lost a 'friend' because I refused to sell him one.
  6. True, guns don't kill people! I was shot at in Tasmania near some apple orchards. They missed! The farmers were friendly but not some punks who live, eat and shit in their vans! No guns in Australia? Oh well I'm talking about Tasmania.
  7. Hi Skip, Attached are the pics of the video. As I remembered he only mentioned how it was done but did not 'show' how its done. I was told that he had sold his company to his cousin. "Loveless" is a lovely name for a blade! B.
  8. Thank you for sharing Skip! I've seen Bob Loveless' video some years back where he made one that 'locked' his 'drop-point'.
  9. I just turned down a job that pays in US$. Just like having a pay cut every month. Hope it will recovers soon.
  10. Here are some I did using sand. I used 1.2mm ( 3 oz.) They were fun projects not for holding any liquid. Now that you mentioned plastic, maybe the next time round I'll put in a few plastic bags then fill in the sand?
  11. Eye-catching! Seen someone did the string in two continuous rounds with knot on one side.
  12. My very first tool for punching slits for lacing was a fork! Flatten it with a hammer, cut the 'legs' down to about 1/4" Sharpen with a file.
  13. Here's the pattern. Also found this using Google; http://www.yamasa.org/japan/english/destin...gata_jinja.html Key_Vest_1.pdf Key_Vest_1.pdf
  14. I once braided a bell handle for a local bar with one of those hidden at the bottom fringes. Just took another look at the pic and there's a black one too! B.

Clay, I used these words before on Peter Main's works; I AM NOT AN ARTIST BUT I DO KNOW A MASTER PIECE WHEN I SEE ONE! B.
  16. Hello all, Friend came over and showed me this. Said he'll send me the pattern later. See that little white thing? Some say it's for good fortune! Maybe a Japanese member can tell us more. Any Japanese here? B.

    Oak Leaves

Hi, A friend gave this to me some years ago, it had been in the envelope all these years. This thread reminds me of it. Seen it somewhere? B.
  18. My brother made this for me and I did the electrical part. Its 13" square x 4" in height, 1/2" plywood, Formica and a round florescent tube. B.
  19. I normally do saddle stitch and I used four times the length so as not to struggle towards the end. Pull the thread around the perimeter of the project, fold/double it ( thread ) once and from that length fold it again, that should be about four times the wanted length. B.
  20. Friend told me he made key fobs with that method.
  21. Johanna, I wish you didn't ask! Coz my carving hardly improves! Could be due to my 'never mind' attitude. It's still a hobby. Here is a bigger pic of it. Harry is my mentor! I would have given up if it's not for him! We hardly 'talk' now coz he told me on the phone that his computer ka-put, maybe he is pulling my legs. Now that Teresa is no more there, I'm totally cut off. He'd ask about me about a few weeks ago. My prayers to him! Attached is a pic of him I did few years ago. Shall send you an album but you'll have to sign-in. B.
  22. If you want something like the four in the pic to modify your case, PM me I'll scan you the cutting pattern. I made them slightly bigger so that I can put in two glasses, sun and reading glasses. 2 in 1. B.
  23. " The Craftsman" , "Two Lazy A" Carving and stamping bench. Vol 14 No.1. 1969 The Stohlman's leather work bench. Vol 14 No.3. 1969 B.
  24. Thank you for sharing! Now I know what to do with that leaf I picked up moons ago. B.
