Adding Conchs To Pigskin Lined Guitar Strap
dragonhawke replied to Big's topic in Clothing, Jackets, Vests and Chaps
I would add the conch first, but then I like to hide any hardware attachments. -
For my fellow Canadians...don't use Springfield to order patterns. They have no shipping method to Canada, so you end up in an endless loop. Try somewhere else guys.

Us Wwi Military Leather Putee Pattern?
dragonhawke replied to 25b's topic in Shoes, Boots, Sandals and Moccassins
25B, Sorry about the late reply. You said you searched Google and got no result, understandable as it is spelled "puttees". Almost every army in the world has worn them at one time or another. During WWI, Belgium/France/Germany/Britian/Canada all worn them. I am not aware of leather ones being used. Almost every example I have ever see is a traditional puttee 9' x 3" and made of wool serge which was wrapped from ankle to knee, with a cotton cloth tape 2' x 1/2" attached at the end to tuck in and secure the legging. Heavy canvas and/or leather gaiters were worn by officers, messenger riders or trench runners. I have a set of each from WWI that belonged to family that served and survived the "Great War". Hope this helps you, as I have tried researching US clothing and equipment from that same era, but am also, having problems finding references as well. Best of luck to you. -

Yeah, don't you just love the so called "North American Free Trade Agreement"...means you Americans get more of our money.

And here I was going to send a sketch on now I thought it was constructed. I got the same solutions as you Tom, but can't beat a drafted pattern.
