  2. The pictures do not seem to work for me. Would like to see it I am sure it looks great. Ash
  3. get in contact with Jeremiah you will not be disappointed.
  4. I agree with everyone else, just buy 2 of them.
  5. Jeremiah, Nice looking saddle. I really liked the working cowhorse saddle you made for Gary and big bend that I saw this year at the finals. You should post some pictures of that one if you have them, cause I cant find any on the web. I liked how you did the one peice swell cover. Great work one of these days I will have to come by your shop when I am down in OK visiting friends. Ashley
  6. JW, Your saddle looks real good. Also your lacing as came along way. Keep up the great work. Ash
  7. another place is http://www.acidfonts.com/ Ash
  8. Brian, Great looking saddle. When are you coming to MO to teach your engraving class? I wish I had some vacation time and I would drive over to that side of the state and learn some things. Ashley
  9. Steve, I put together a contract a few years ago after taking a buisness law class. It states that I need a 1/4 of the final price for a depsit and then another 1/4 of the final price when I get ready to build the saddle. Then the remaining balance is to be paid when the saddle is complete. It also states that it must be paid within 30 days of completion, if not I will sell it and no depsits will be refunded. The customer and myself both sign when ordered and we each have a copy. I use to take a set amount like Greg, but quit due to the different prices of extras on the saddle. I figure that if they order a 4,000 saddle verses a 3,000 they will have less to come up in the end. I am sorry that you had to learn this the hard way, hopefully they will come up with the money or you can get it sold out right. Ashley
  10. Randy, All the Herman Oak I have ever used was hard, I bought it direct from the factory and it was suppose to be # 1's. I went back to Wickett & Craig, I like it the best. Ashley
  11. Troy, Great looking saddle. Do you rig alot of saddles that way. I was thinking of building a calf roper and rigging it the way you did. Do you think it holds up well. I am sure you do or you wouldnt build it that way. Ashley
  12. I would have to add to the others. That is some very clean work. ashley
  13. Ryan, The guy that ordered this saddle has always rode oxbow stirrups and wanted to try a 4" bell. I didnt stamp them so if he wanted me to switch out stirrups I could use these on another saddle. I agree that they stick out like a sore thumb. Ashley
  14. Here is a Weatherly that I just finished up. I am sorry about the pictures, but he guy that usually takes them for me was out Elk hunting and the customer wanted his saddle. Pretty simple saddle with basic boarder tooling. Tree was made by Rod Nikkel, hardware by Harwood, and leather Wickett & Craig.
  15. Dave, Very nice looking saddle. Ashley
  16. Jon, A friend of mine John " the saddleman" from Terrell TX builds alot of these saddles. Personally I do not like them, but he seems to have alot of luck building them. Here is his link www.highbacksaddle.com Ashley
  17. Bobcat, Your work is excellent. Keep up the great work and keep posting. I have one question. Could you do a tutorial on how you make you trucker wallet. I really like that. Ashley
  18. Charlene, What kind of questions do you have? You said that you are building a modern saddle, I will take it that you are building a swell fork arena saddle. About the only change in building that and a Wade are the swells. You will build everything else the same. I would recommend getting the stolman book on how to cover swells with welts. That will give you an idea or you could just put it on with out welts. It will be alot more work and trial by error. I would also add for the knowledge you get from Jeremiah and Dale it is well worth the money. With the cost of leather I dont believe that you can waist by not knowing what you are doing. Ashley
  19. I have heard of a 3 way rig on a reining saddle, but have never heard of a 5 way rig. Ashley
  20. Alan, I was just thinking why would they use Arizona Bars to then just build up a stirrup groove with leather. Ashley
  21. I agree with Greg. On the makers he suggessted. I have a Las Crused half breed from Mark. I also have one of Ed Fields bits if you can get one from him or Chuck Erwin. Neither of them will be building bits for too much longer. I am on Todd Hansens waiting list hopefully I will get a bit from him before too long. Chris Cheney looks to making some nice bits as well. Ashley
  22. The saddle looks nice. Who did you get the tree from. Ashley
  23. JW, They will be down at the Ranch Rodeo Finals, if you are going. Ashley
  24. Why dont you just buy a swivel knive from Barry King. I think they are around $35 with a blade. Ashley
  25. CW, If you have never made a set of rawhide taps. You will need to get some sand and fill them up before you let them dry. I just wanted to let you know that before you started. Ashley
