I know, but at least for the stop screw I wasn't necessarily needing a Singer specific item, with it's extra cost and shipping and turn around time. The lifter bolt I think is a bearing type screw (so lifter can pivot) and a singer specific item may be the only way to go. But the stop screw is more important to me at the moment as the bolt in my lifter pivot is getting the job done at least. Besides I need an excuse to go to Elliott's hardware - do you know the screw dimensions?

Anyone know the machine screw size (thread pitch and thread shaft length) of the screw that locks the revolving head bush handle into place on a singer patcher (so that it's stationary when locked tightened but revolves when loosened)? It sits on the front of the head under the darning tensioner. I'd like to find one if possible in a wingnut design in black... am I dreaming? Also, I need the machine screw that hold the foot lifter handle , it pivots on this screw too I believe (without seeing it in front of me). Thanks for any help.

The fact that you hand painted those decals and did such a great job of it is the really impressive thing to me. Anyone can spray black paint (though I know you did more - like taking it apart, etc) but the hand painting details is not something the average joe's gonna be able to pull off. I've got a singer 45k25 that i want to put a servo motor on.. I'm thinking of getting a Sewpro 500gr (already had one and liked it) or trying a Consew CSM550. The consew is quite cheaper and is a 550watt motor (3/4 hp) compared to the Sewpro's 300watts. I know though that the Sewpro has the 3:1 gearing... but then the consew is also advertised as being a "high torque" servo. The consew is about twice as fast as the Sewpro, which I'll never need, but I wonder if it'll go as slowly as the Sewpro? So are these units going to be about equal it torque and what about slow speed control? I'll be sewing holsters and such with this machine.

ah there it is! Mysteriously though the pics will not maximize , making me doubtful that it's a real machine at all, probably just a cardboard cutout (kidding) thanks for the pic. I suppose it's simply a drop feed, straight stitch, lockstitch machine. Interesting to see it. BTW, my search lacked the word "model" and that seems to have made the difference with google. thanks again.

I keep coming across mention of a "Consew 30" usually mentioned in the same sentence as a Singer 31-15.... now my curiosity is peaked, I've checked google and can't find a single picture of one. I have a Consew 18 which looks a lot like a 31-15 singer but it has a walking foot w/ alternating pressers. Anyone have a picture of a 30?

I've been in search for a particular shade of green leather (somewhere between olive and apple), a color that's not been really easy to locate. I came across a side of "patent leather" that looks close to that color. I'm going to be making a duffle bag and this side is marked at 3.5 oz - would that be about right? Anyway, I was wondering if it would be feasible to strip the gloss off (at least most of it) since I'm not after the sheen? BTW, this is not synthetic leather but true cowhide. Acetone maybe?

Not trying to derail this thread, but does anyone know of a source for this type of leather. I'm looking for some for a variety of original designs.

Yes, the adapter is what I'm considering (see details above). I hadn't thought about the longer needle bar stroke of the 45K but I wonder if it would really make any difference since the attachment connects to and works off the presser bar anyway. With my luck, you're probably right. I'll try to report my findings in this thread.

I'm not totally opposed to it, let me look into crating and shipping options.

$825 with the sewpro servo motor from Toledo Industrial, or $640 with no motor. Ideally I'd like to hang on to the Sewpro servo to use on another machine I have. A new servo could be sourced for about $100 shipped off ebay.

No steve, I wouldn't dream of cutting anything off the 45K .... I was saying I'd make an adapter from the end of a 31's presser foot bar. One end would fit the attachments and the other would need to be machined to fit onto the 45K. The 45K's bar may or may not need to be raised up from it's factory set point for that to work. I have a left over roller foot for the 31-15 (the small roller), a zipper foot and probably the most important item to me is the high shank keyhole buttonhole attachment. If I can make that work I'd have no need to source another 31-15.

hmm..Maybe I could use the very bottom part of a 31-15 presser bar, cut off a (to be determined) length and machine the top of it to mount to the 45K25's presser bar.

I have a few attachments left over from selling my Singer 31-15 (which is a high shank machine w/drop feed) and was wondering if I could make those attachments work with a 45k25 cylinder machine I have coming my way. I was just considering that the feed design etc are quite similar, just on a bigger scale w/ the 45K25. Perhaps the presser foot bar could be adjusted down to accomodate them?

I'm selling my Consew 206RB (flat bed walking foot machine), in very good condition, has brand new K-leg stand and table top. This one I believe was the last model made in Japan, very good quality. Local pickup in Dallas, TX. preferred. I will try to post pictures of it soon.

If I'm not mistaken it's called a pitman. I wouldn't be surprised if pitmans from other Singer treadles would work (non 29s), but get measurements first.
