Trust me it will be well worth the wait. I have had my two Bearman mauls since the begining of January and could not be happier.

I just had this problem with some pieces I just did. I would reccomend lemon juice put it on a damp sponge rub it in a little let it dry (best over night). It took out the black spots on three pieces that I was working on and I was able to leave them undyed just finished as normal. Good luck. Scott

More Marbeled Horsehide
camano ridge replied to malabar's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Do you have a picture? WHoops sorry there was a delay in the picture showing up. Looks good, thats a lot of leather. -
Here is a man's perspective (don't know if you want it or not). When I look at what you have for a display I spend more time looking at the display background not at the items you are trying to sell. I understand an attractive display is important, however what you want to have attract attention are the items you are trying to sell. A plainer background in an interesting motiff I think would be better. I once set up a display of western holsters using an old lever action rifle a Texas Ranger badge and an 1800's set of hand cuffs, I spent more time answering questions about those items then I did the holsters. In most cases I truly believe in the KISS method. Just my 2 cents worth (and it may not even be worth that much). Scott

First Holster
camano ridge replied to J Hayes's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Holster looks good. One question on your edges, can't tell for sure becuase the picture is a little fuzzy did you bevel both the inside and outside of the two pieces before gluing and stitching? If you did next time try just beveling the outside edges then glue and stitch the two pieces together and burnish as one piece. Scott -
Help With Samaurai Sword Sheath
camano ridge replied to Kcinnick's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I have a small collection of military swords, I am no expert on Japanese swords, however looking at the pictures it would appear to be possibly world war II maybe earlier, it is hard to tell with out seeing the sword itself and any markings. I would not recomend doing anything including cleaning until it was appraised by someone knowledgable in this type of sword. If you were to recover it you would stitch the leather like a sleeve or a glove the you would force it over the Scabard until the scabard was completely seated in the sleeve. It would then be laced above the lanyard ring ( not the correct terminology but you should get the meaning). -

Green Gun...check It Out..
camano ridge replied to Rayban's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I bought mine early December and have used it twice. I laid the green Gun (Glock 17)along side a Rings Glock 21 I would have to say that the detail on the Rings Glock 21 is sharper and crisper then on the green Gun, I also compared it to other Blackhawk dummy guns I have and would have to say their detail is sharper and crisper. However having said that I have used the Green Gun to make two Holsters one for a G17 and one for a G22. Both holsters boned up well and both guns fit their prespective holster well. I am happy overall with the Green Gun and if they made other models I would probably buy them. I think it is a good value for the price. Just my personal opinion. Scott -

Wood Burnishers
camano ridge replied to triage1998's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Realizing this is an older thread brought back to life, thought I would add my two cents worth. I bought two of Chris's burnishers, I could not be happier they work great. I oredered mine in early December and recieved before Christmas and have used them on a half dozen projects so far. Scott -
I can attest to the beuaty and the quality of the work done by Bearman and Beary. I am the proud owner of the two mauls pictured with the Marine Emblem and the Firefighter Challenge Coin. They are so nice I have'nt been to bring myself to bang them against anything yet. Thanks again Bearman and Beary. Scott
