  1. LB it's not that time consuming really when dealing with this style of dying. A little over the line here and there or darker here or there only adds to the aging look. Tom loves my bottom !!!! This puppy is so tight i've decided to add another piece of leather under the snap. I'm stitching a piece of leather over that piece of leather then putting the snap back on . THat way there's no chance of pulling the snap thru. It's not over tight but tight and i just want to stop any chance of it going bad.
  2. Wow, I really like all the round bead molding you did. Well all the molding. It just looks incredible !! Well done.
  3. OH the colors !!! The dye job with the black background just look freaking outstanding. Well Done, I love it !! Those colors with the rest of the seat being black really make it jump out at'cha !
  4. Thanks Clay, It's not the best step by step but i think it will do. I think i'm going to be making alot of stuff with this style of coloring. It has nice appeal that i like. I guess i would call it a warm feeling. Thanks !! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
  5. I don't know you or your daughter but i'm very sorry to hear of this. I wouldn't wish it on anyone of any age. Cancer knows no age, gender or race. When you say they are going to freeze it, what are we talking about here. Are they going to place her on "taxotere" ? It paralyzes the cells and stops it's rapid mass reproduction which will then in most cases. then make the cancer cell die. Either way i wish all the best for her and for the rest of your family. My family will pray for your family. Please keep up posted .
  6. What gets me is how mad crazy some of this people spend thousands of dollars on paintball equipment . Oh it just make me laugh but anyway back to leather. Here's a few pics i took as i dyed it. This pics are pretty sorry, like i said it was midnite or after when i did this. I can't get a good pic with house lighting to save my...stuff that needs saving. Ok first is the raw leather. If you forgot what that looks like, it looks like this Then i used a dauber to apply eco flo's "Range Tan" dye over the whole piece. One good coat. The color is a little off in this pic but you get the idea here. Then i used a brush to apply the eco flo's "Java Brown" dye. I did the whole outer edge giving it a border. Then i did all the parts where the background tool was used . Also the eyes and any pear shading on the skulls and around the skulls. Did some of the leaf tips and along all the leaf steams. As the brush would dry i would brush around the edge more to the center and hit here and there . I do all this as many time as it takes to get the look or darkness i want. Hard to see in the pics. Then i did the same thing with eco flo's "Dk. Cocoa Brown" like i did with the "Java Brown". Except i don't make the border quit as wide. Then buff the heck out of it. Seal it, i used eco flo's "Super Shene" . This is when it really blends together. I'll buff it again and add at least one more coat of super shene. Hope that made since . It's really pretty easy and i'm sure you could use a dauber for all the color. Just use a brush in the little areas .
  7. I think it looks great. I really like the design of the initials . Your design or the owners ? snaps ? what snaps? i don't see no stickin snaps . Nice job of concealing the snaps.
  8. Thank you all very, very much !!!! Yes sir, it's a cover for a compressed air tank for a paintball gun. At first i thought i bite off more then i could chew. This was a great project for me. I was told i'll never get the shape right for it to look right. It's a VERY snug fit . Now i gotta make another one just like it for myself and some grip covers. Think i'll just mirror the whole thing for mine.
  9. Think i've got my pattern down now for this size tank. My basket weave lacing is still to be improved. I can see one ooppsee right at the end, forgot to go under. Used velcro in stead of a zipper. That worked great. It opens up more then i thought it would and more then the zipper one did. Huge plus cause these puppies are tight as a ........Anyway this one is going out as a gift next month to a close friends and one of my biggest fans ( no not Kevin King LOL ) Cause it's round i'll flood ya with pictures.... All-N-One , for those that just want to get the pain over with. Clockwise around skipping the middle. The center section before and after dye or life and death i guess. Sorry for the crappy pic it was around midnight and lighting was sorry. Now shot by shot or sometin.... I took some pics as i dyed it. I'll have to crop and clean those up. It was the middle of the night when i dyed it and took pics..so....i'm not promising those pictures will be the greatest. But i'll see if i can show those that care a step by step.
  10. LOve the whole idea and design of this. I love the dye job. How did you achieve this look ? I guessing you used Tandy's eco flo dye, anyway please do share.
  11. Well now you've done both and we expect to see more !!! What, you heard ! It's never, never, never, nnnnever and mistake. It's trying somethin new. Looks great !

I could not disagree more with anything i've read on this board. I WANT TO KNOW ALL YOU SECRETS ! MMMUUUUUUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! LOL And don't worry about what section you post in, when you post work like this. I've always thought the "member gallery" name was a little confusing as well. Maybe we should look into changing the name to something more like Welcome or New member intro or maybe just knock, knock.....who's there. LOL

Bobocat, Amazing work !!! You are a true artist and you leather skills are fantastic . That is incredible work !! Thanks for sharing. This should really be in the "show off" section but, either way i'm glad you posted it. Amazing i tell you.
  17. I really like all the pear shading you did. It's added a very 3dish affect. Again very clean work !! Look forward to seeing this one finished.
  18. Great work Smokey !! If you're using windows. This may help you resize you pictures : 1. Click on your start bar ( lower left corner ) and find your "Paint" program and open it. 2. Now in "paint" click on the word "file" in the top left corner. Then scroll down and click on "open" 3. Now find your picture and open it. 4. Once you've opened your picture then click on "image" in the top tool bar where "file" is. 5. Now scroll down to "stretch/skew" and click that. 6. Now you should have a box that appeared. In the "Horizontal" and "Vertical" box put how much you want to reduce it by. Just make sure you put the same amount in both boxes. I'm not sure how big the pictures are. I'd start out with 50% - 50% . then go smaller if needed. 7.Then once you've got the size you want. Click "file" again and click "save as" . Name it and save it .
  19. I'm a huge fan of the buffalo he did and i'm sure people would love to see him doing that live. I'm not sure how long it take to do that though. I know it would take me about a year or so. I'm not sure it's a two day project but this is something i've been thinking of doing pretty much ever since i saw leather embossed. Seeing as how good Clay is at embossing, i think he could pull this one off and make it look great. You know the classic drawing of the two hands drawing each other ? I'd like to see that done but have them carving instead of drawing. Then there's illusions i'de like to see done in leather. Like this one. Or if you want simple, this is my line work for a project im doing now "deadoak". Ok , i've started rolling the ball.....NEXT !!!!
  20. My monitor must be going out cause i don't see any "bad" pics. All i see is some amazing work. Crystal , that is a beautiful work of art. I love it !!
  21. I call first dibs on what ever form of a master piece he does while there !! DIBBBBS !! LOL Man i sure do wish i was close enough to make it. It would be one of the high lite of me life i tell ya. How awesome would that be, to see the bert and ernie show live ?? Please for the love of all things living, someone get to this with a video recorder of any kind !!!! Thank you freak OUT
  22. Lucky !!!! Very nice. Hey can you turn the picture around for us. I'd like to see the other side as well... What ? like I'm the only one thinkin it.
  23. It looks great Shirley ! And Thank you !!
  24. A few months ago Jim was at the Mesquite store in Texas. I got kidnapped by outer beings that day and missed him. But,, i was allowed to bring this home for a week or maybe 2 weeks. ( Thanks Ray ) I was told that he used no pattern and this was all done free hand. I had a real hard time taking this back to Tandy's. Freakin frattin no good conscience ! ! !
