  1. Really nice work. What weight leather do you find works best for wallets like these? Chris
  2. Fantastic. I really like the look of it. Chris
  3. Very cool. I like making tools as well. Chris
  4. I think they look great. Definitely work to be proud of. Chris
  5. Really dig the wallets. I have a wallet design that I've been carrying for about 5 years now and I'll never go back to a store bought wallet. I've always wanted to make a bi-fold and I tried it once but I think the leather that I have was a bit to thick for it.
  6. Very very cool. I would never have thought of making bowls from leather. Chris
  7. Welcome to the group. Chris
  8. I like it. I've always wanted to make a watch band but never had any leather thin enough to do it. Chris
  9. Thanks. Good to be back. Chris
  10. A while back I was really active on the forum and for one reason or another it seemed that leatherwork took a backseat to everything else I was doing and slowly I drifted away from the forum. Just wanted to say that I'm still around and recently I've started doing more leatherwork again. Look forward to getting back into the swing of things. Chris aka builderofstuff
  11. glad I could help Chris
  12. There were some videos on youtube that I saw that didn't necessarily go through every little detail, but they did have enough information to give you a good starting point. I'll look and see if I have links to them saved. Chris Check out this videos and see what you think. I think it might give you a good starting point http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTJCi63O6Uw&feature=channel_video_titled Chris
  13. What about thinning the dyes? How do you thin them down so you can spray them and how much? I generally use Tandy leather dyes and they are pretty thick.
  14. Wow never thought this thread would get this much response. hahaha Chris
  15. I use vinyl which came from Jo-Anne's. My fiance got it for one of her craft projects and we had a ton of it laying around. Unfortunately I don't know what the thickness is or if it's even available in different thicknesses, but that's what I use for the ID window on my wallets. It works great, holds up really well, and it's readily available. Hope that helps. Chris
  16. I'd like to know how to do this as well.
  17. You did a beautiful job on it.
  18. You might contact a doctor that works with orthodics and ask them, explain the situation to them and see what they think. I know that in my still limited study of shoemaking that if you get it wrong you can cause some problems. However if she wears crocs all the time those are about as basic as you can get. At least the ones that I have don't have much in the way of arch support or anything like that. Wish I could be of more help. Chris
