TerryE go for it.... I have one almost like it that i bought at Tandy a Long Long time ago i only us mine for dying large areas of leather or highlighting the edges of belts or bilfolds. It WORKS FOR ME ...

i have not used fiberglass..... but a long time ago i did one using Cocanuts to mould the leather , it worked....

that is a fine looking Gun Case, you and your Son did well . that Gun Case will last for years & years.

GAMEKEEPER, the information that- rdb - gave to you is very informative and you can you cut leather very True with it. THE LEATHER CUTTER.. made byThe Leather Works in Palo Alco Calif. I have bought new ones that are sold by Tandy .....and they will not cut straight. I have measured and compaired them with The Leathet Cutter. and the Tandy Cutters are not made right, The LEATHER CUTTER SHOWS UP ON E-BAY.If you want a strap cutter check e-bay.

a lining for the gun case, to me would be made from vegetable tanned leather. some of the other would be chrom tanned leather and that could possible be a rusting issue .....I M H O..

SHORTS Segma Brand belt snaps are the best ones.

************************************************************************** I dont think i would re-dye the old saddle Black... think abour it! all the oil that has been used on the saddle would have an effect on the dye that you are going to use on it.

Shorts, snaps are installed so one can change the buckle, if the right snap is used there is no problems.

3 ARROWS. USE THE LARGE STAPLE IT WORKS.. USE A SMALL NAIL OR AN AWL TO PUNCH THE HOLE IN THE NEW BELT. MEASURE THE OLD BELT AND CUT THE NEW ONE TO THAT LENGTH... REMEMBER MEASURE TWICE CUT ONCE..........
