    wolvie.... you know what mildew looks like.... i have seen the same thing before and i was told that is is some of the oil or finish that has came to the surface. i re oiled it and all was fine . i was making double belts, knife sheathes and holsters.

    ED , THAT IS A FINE LOOKING BAG. WHAT TYPE OF LEATHER DID YOU USE. IF I SAW RIGHT, IT LOOKS GREAT WITHOUT A LINING. THE REENFORCEMENTS AROUND THE TOP OF THT BAG IS A GREAT IDEA.

    Matt : try setting the boot hooks with a 'durable dot line 24' snap setter or with a tublar rivet setter, you know you will have to be careful not to smash the hooks......... someone else might know more than me..........good luck
