  1. I called the store and the manager pulled a set of dies from the store and we discussed the issue, I said I thought I had it figured out but didn't want to take the chance of breaking anything and he said if I did he would come good for it. RIGHT ON! This may help the next victim
  2. I have a Tandy hand press with a set of dies for Segma snaps but no instructions. I think I have the cap dies on the right figured out but I'm not certain about the male side which I think is the set on the left. The male end might sit in the hole on one die and I'm not sure if the stud side fits on or inside the other die? Thanks. Kevin.
  3. Did you ever try contact and clamps?
  4. They look good Rosi, nice match! You can always use paint on the edge.
  5. Anyone selling long flange grommets for thicker material? I'm looking for #0 with a 9/32 flange instead of the standard 3/16.
  6. Try a search for round head rivets, these have a smaller head.
  7. Thanks for the tip Treybecca; I'll test it out first and can always switch to the acrylic paint.
  8. A moisture meter might help you. http://www.amazon.com/General-Tools-Instruments-MMD4E-Moisture/dp/B00275F5O2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397350946&sr=8-1&keywords=moisture+meter Once you get the level that works the best you can always duplicate it with the meter. I'm not certain it will work but it might.
  9. Depending on what it is as in how many stitches involved. For a belt I would pick up the stitches, melt the ends on the back side and continue stitching starting in pre stitched holes once I fixed the problem. For smaller items I'll use the machine needle as a awl to keep the holes the same and then hand stitch.
  10. I just wanted to mention my thread was breaking at the needle several inches into a project I was working on and it seems to be the check spring that controls the thread going up to the arm. It had tension but seemed to be sluggish at the stop. I tightened the spring a little and haven't had any more issues.
  11. The needle will go up and down while the bobbin loads. You can remove the thread from the needle and wind the bobbin or let it wind while you sew.
  12. It's not that you'll get hundreds of impressions but for your project I am assuming you'll only use each one once or twice (unless I'm wrong about that) that's what I meant by not being feasible.
  13. Well, if you don't know just ask, that's what the forum is for. I've got more than my fair share of help here.
  14. That doesn't seem very profitable Bob if you are only going to get to use them once or twice. What is the cost for one? They look good but it just doesn't seem feasible to me.
  15. Can anyone tell me if Angelus #4 Neutral is white in colour? I need a white penetrating dye.
  16. It's in your topic title. Less work with edge kote, that's the primary difference. Final appearance is personal preference.
  17. Thanks Wiz, I suspect it's a hole where the spring and washers keep tension on the nut. Good to know, I didn't see that adjustment in the manual.
  18. Is the split shaft threaded into the machine then as well?
  19. How do you set tension on a check spring on the cowboy 4500, the only adjustment I see is in the travel on not the tension?
  20. Depends how careful you are. You can close the open mouth of the V and all that will be left is a fine line that will be difficult to see and can be masked with dye and wax until you get it perfected but you want to get it as close as you can.
  21. Black River has hole punches, you'd have to inquire if they were expanding the die selection. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=54331&hl=dies#entry348146
