  1. Re post that here http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showforum=50 for better results.
  2. See edit above, you could also use a nut inside the chuck if you don't have any tubing.
  3. Can you drill out the snap? If not, you can put the threaded portion inside something like a small rubber fuel line, place inside a drill chuck and hold a file to the head as the bolt spins in the chuck.

  10. Karina; I was commenting on using the tool for sharpening. " can throw on a polishing wheel (or grinder) on the other side "
  11. I don't think you will want a polishing wheel in close proximity (at least a few feet) to where you are working with leather, they throw a lot of compound and debris. A variable speed drill press might be another option for you, I use a small bench mounted drill press for burnishing and sanding. I keep metal sharpening and polishing separate.

  14. I bought one of those as well from Tandy ,it's well made but I wouldn't buy the same one again because you can't get all the dies you need.
  15. I buy rivets from Ohio Travel.
  16. For a wood grain finish you can wet a piece of plywood to raise the grain, let it dry and then press it into cased leather and the pattern will transfer.
  17. You could use a varnish or urethane.
  18. There's a product that I've used called petrifier and it will harden leather. On pouches I soak the inside and a light coat on the outside. http://www.homedepot.com/p/PC-Products-16-oz-PC-Petrifier-Wood-Hardener-164440/100649629
  19. Your backer plate could even be plastic.
  20. You can buy brass footman loops and make your own plates from brass flat stock .
