  1. Ok, I wasn't going 1 1/2 times around the tensioner. I'll try that and see if that makes a difference. Thanks Dirtclod!
  2. I guess by the diagram in the book it's set up right. How often do you adjust the secondary tension wheel? I have not touched it. Another dumb question...the diagram in the book looks like the thread winds around twice on the primary tensioner. Does it??
  3. Ok, I took off the nut and laid out all the parts...I think this is set up wrong. The thread runs in the groove of the round black disk. So adjusting doesn't do anything. I have more parts to match the other secondary tension. Should I replace the disk with the other parts?
  4. Ok, I'll try that...no, the bobbin tension is very snug to pull.
  5. It's about 6-7 oz. I have tried 2 pieces with the same result. Just starting out, I don't know whether to just adjust one at a time or both.
  6. Here are 2 photos of stitching. Front and back. I have messed with both the thread and bobbin tension and I still can't get it right. What am I doing wrong? I'm using 277 thread and 200 chisel needle.
  7. I REALLY like it! You've done a nice job!
  8. Looks like you're getting the hang of it. Your curves are smooth and flowing. Really good job!
  9. I don't get into masks but you've done a great job!
  10. I agree with Mike, you need to cover the case with your own leather work! Cool case!
  11. Nicely done! I like it!
  12. Did it eventually lighten up as time went on?
  13. $350 This was a past customer. He's building another bike.
  14. Very cool! I really like that extra flap on the lower back!
  15. Nice work! You're getting the hang of it!
  16. Posted this seat after the swap meet and now it's sold! Also if I didn't have enough on my plate, here is what else I've been working on for my son and daughter in law. Oak corner cabinet with custom hand punched metal panels. Finally done tonight and on to my new sewing machine and other items to start making.
  17. Billy we were asked to be at this swap meet and the booth was paid for us to get us there which was great! The thing I noticed most is it's definitely for people on a tight budget wanting to have a bike. Most were scrounging for parts and the kids and moms were buying the trinket stuff. The negative for the day is it was raining off and on so the bike show didn't have but 4 entered. Wow, $1500 for a 10x10.That sounds like a trade show cost. I've been to the Easy Rider trade show in Cincinnati. I wouldn't even think of doing one. I do agree about the plain seats. You can't please everyone and most want their own logo or design. I'm sure if I had known what bike club members were going to be there I could have sold them their logo seat in a heart beat. For the most part, there was a handful of people that were serious about making their bike their own special ride. Those were the people that I think I'll get a call from. If I do this again, I will make the appropriate changes. The banners I got were from Staples and yes they're like business cards. Not too pricey since I got 50% off for all three. People at least knew we were serious about our product. We were the only ones there with banners and table covers.
  18. You are excellent at the small detailing...jealous! I know he'll love them!
