  1. The above confusion was why I asked for pics. I am guessing that your pics were too big, sometimes they need to be resized down.
  2. Pictures would help a lot of what you are doing and how you want it to look. Aaron
  3. One thing to remember is that human rights have changed considerably in the last 100 years. Slavery had recently ended in America and was (is) common in most of the world. Different races of people were looked at as less than human (Asian, Black, Indian) at that time. It still goes on to this day around the world.
  4. Curious who the donor was and if it was consensual.

  6. For an easy answer, try wrapping them with leather and see if you are happy with that. Aaron
  7. This is so funny. About two years ago I made a sheath for a coworker, for the same knife. Aaron
  8. Paul Zalesak, creator of the SK3 swivel knife and master leather carver will be teaching in Portland OR July 18, 19, 20, 2013. He will be covering knife sharpening, swivel knife use and basic leather carving. The three day class will be hosted at and by Oregon Leather. 9. Basically... You start with a thin piece of leather, glue your skin to it, cut a window hole in a thin piece and glue it down. This layered piece is now the cover to your sheath. Does that make since?
  10. Are they clicked? What kind of leather and how thick? Aaron
  11. Nylon and polyester will not accept dye (think od trying to dye plastic. Linen will accept dye. If you dipped a roll I would guess you would have light and dark areas, like tie-dyed. You may also have drying areas. You can also use Rit dye on it too. I like the Sharpie idea on short run batches al lot, great idea. You do not have to wax it, I just threw that in since you said you were buying waxed.
  12. Buy unwaxed linen and pull it through Fiebings dye. Let it dry, then wax and sew.
  13. Hot press stamping. Look up Howard imprinting machine.
  14. I keep seeing this thread title and all I can think of is cutting the underwear off a stripper. "thong cutter"
  15. Looks very good. My only constructive would be to bring the sides up a little hugher, that way if it is not snapped it will not ever fall out. Aaron
  16. The brass tips look like woodburners.
  17. If it helps any, western floral use acanthus flowers. Sheridan uses real looking flowers.
  18. If he has a habit of oiling all of his holsters and has never had trouble it will be hard to convince him that every holster he has ever owned can handle oil, but not the ones you make. I would try to talk to him directly. I would fix the problem, weather he wants his money back or will accept another one. Clearly explain to him what happened and why and that this one is a one time deal. He will tell his friends, they will order and tell their friends. There is no chaeper advertising than to waranty something that really should not be covered. It is the same reason why lifetime waranties work. You will waranty a few items that really are not your fault. They will tell others and others will buy from you. Cheap way to have positive advertisement. Aaron
  19. Pictures and model numbers would be a huge help. There are a few guys on here that can help. Craigs list is always good, but get an idea of what you have first. The smaller shipable stuff may sell well on here. I am interested in some of it depending on price. Aaron
  20. If you are going to buy from Tandy, they are the ones to get. They are decent quality, but not as good as Barry King.
  21. Three lights. Overhead florescent on the ceiling. Two arm lights shining in from the sides.
  22. Rest your Elbow on the table and let the mallet fall rather than swinging it.
  23. Most granite fab shops will give you sink drops for free. They are waste to them and have to pay to get rid of it.
