  1. Barry is far less than 100, about half that. He is a tool maker, will make custom ones on request. That tool shape is not that complex, worst case you could hand file it.
  2. OK I have to answer now... From an attention grabbing item, a bust harness is going to win every time. This one looks very nice.
  3. It is worth the $15 to not have him as a customer again. Send the money back. Imagine who the poor guy feels, he has to live with her every day.
  4. I forgot about that. Bowl wax is ususlly pure bees wax and very cheap. Get a new one though, a used one may be cheaper but tends to be very icky.
  5. Super 99 spray glue holds well. The only spray glue that I know of that will actually hold.
  6. Buy a single beeswax candle for a couple dollars. Look up honey on Craigs list and call the local beekeper and ask to buy a little. I paid $35 and got more than would fit in a gallon pail a while back. Should have wax for life. Aaron
  7. Leatherwranglers SK3 If there is a fault to it I would sat the issue is that it is sharp. You likely will have to get used to not pushing down so hard trying to get cuts in your leather. It starts out sharp and will stay sharp. So sharp you can skive with it, give that a try with your current knife. Aaron
  8. new but: http://www.goodsjapan.jp/category?top_searchString=leather+thickness&searchString=leather+thickness
  9. I keep mine is a drawer. Hard to find the one I am looking for.
  10. Use a flat pan. Dip them in for a couple seconds, pull them out and pat dry with a towell. Let them dry. Aaron
  11. Full set of bevelers, then thumbprints.
  12. You will be learning so much stuff that soon your head will explode and you will look just like your avatar.
  13. It is a swivel knife... But I am guessing you ment what make. I don't have that, but giving you a bump. Aaron
  14. You did not ask, but I will comment. Two boldly standing out issues. First is the holes are hugely oversized for the thread. The thread should be tight in the holes. Either use larger thread or smaller/tighter holes. Second, when you are sewing is is very important to always follow the same stitch pattern. Always keep to the left/right every time. You sometimes cross on one side and sometimes on the other. Aaron
  15. Here is what I see could be causing trouble: Your bench is too thin of plywood, solid core doors work great. You are using a piece of cinder block as a stone, very soft and low density compared to granite. You have rubber under the cinder block absorbing some of the impact. You are using a rubber mallet, no where near big enough or dense enough. At a minimun, turn the hammer over and use the plastic end. Aaron
  16. try moving to a cement floor and try again. It may surpruse you how much bounce your table has. Aaron
  17. I used scrap that was about 7oz but that was way thick. The stitch is called a ... baseball stitch. The hardest part of the sewing was closing the last stitch and it still looking the same.
  18. I made one a few years ago for a friend doing security work. I made a plug and wet molded the case. Keep it snug so the cuffs do not rattle. Sorry no pic. I got excited and gave it to him before I took pics.
  19. What I see is that he sewed the center devider just like the end piece. The needle went through the devider at a 45 degree angle. It has been a while since I talked to him but Singteck was always a friendly guy, we would likely answer you. Aaron
  20. I think you nailed the differance. Fiebings soaks in and EcoFlo sits on the surface. The differance will really show in a year when it starts to wear. Aaron
  21. Are they available in the US?
  22. If you are looking for one like Art posted, they are on local Craigs List all the time. I have a few that I have powder coated, what size are you looking for? Aaron
  23. I have those pliers too, they are way bigger than the ones in the set of three. They work, but it is hard the leave them in your hand as you are working. They do work, and it is a way to save a couple dollars.
  24. I use these: http://www.harborfreight.com/3-piece-3-inch-micro-pliers-set-98876.html The smooth jaw ones are perfect. You can hold them in the palm of your hand while you are sewing.
