  1. Hello All I am looking for advise or opinions on my web site. We have had a web site for five or six years now, with what I would consider marginal results. I try to at least annually do some major changes as well as add things throughout the year to try and keep it new and fresh. though time does not allow constant attention. I am starting to plan for the annual update and thought it would be great if it were seen from a different perspective than my own. So if anyone has a little time and could take a look and provide your opinion it would be very helpful and much appreciated. You could post or message, whatever works best for you. thanks for any help. The site is http://www.prorodeooriginals.com/ Dink
  2. Thanks everyone. Casey, the brand is a New Mexico brand and from what I gather the ranch that ran it was from the Farmington area. Dwight I have no real good reference for you on old chap pictures. There was a coffee table book about chaps out but I do not know who it was by. But many of the books about rodeo history have some good pictures. I also watch ebay and once in awhile an old set with good pictures pop's up. Dink
  3. Hello All I Just got these finished and delivered, Thank You for looking and please feel free to comment. Dink
  4. What size buckles do you need? I may also be of some help on leather. Dink
  5. For the detailed cuts like you want, I like a trim knife with a hooked blade, I use the ones with replacable blade. They are reasonably priced and available at any of the leather stores. Dink
  6. I have never made one but have seen all the different phases as they are made. I was surprised at how tedious and exact the process is. If I remember correctly it is about a 30 day process to finish. Having the correct plastic for the inner stiffener is a must also. They spend alot of time on forms in a drying room with dehumidifiers running. Not to be discouraging just telling you the things that struck me about the process. Good luck, if you undertake this I may be able to get you a few more specifics Dink www.prorodeooriginals.com
  7. Interesting question I most often hear .50 to a dollar per click. We charge 30 cents per click, plus the invoice cost for leather if we provide it, or you can supply your own leather. We can also make your dies for you. and have at times when people were ordering alot of clicks of a other wise useful pattern,or can work with standard patterns we have we will provide the die and save that cost for you. You can see some of the dies we provide at www.prorodeooriginals.com I will also attach a couple pictures. dies are reasonably priced and guaranteed. small dies can also be built with a handle to hammer punch them. 8. Make it out of Silver meatallic leather?
  9. I glue my tops on with Masters Cement, I apply glue to both pieces and let it dry, often I speed this process with heat, then apply glue to both sides again heat it a little and put them togather. make sure you have it where you want it. Dink
  10. I think Newfman said it all, most everything has it's place and not everyone can justify a $3000+ saddle especially if they don't make a living in it, We have sold a few saddles from corriente for award orders and have had very positive feed back on them. I know a guy that has a couple that he picks up out of because he needs about 5 horses saddled at a time and they are reasonably priced for when you need that many and hold up well to the use he puts on them. When headed to the pasture for the day they are not the first ones grabbed, but in their place they do fit the bill. I rode one a few times that belonged to a friend and was left for a while during shipping and I thought it was a pretty descent saddle it was about 10 years old though. I am not saying they are of the best made out there but I do not think they should be discredited either depending on your intent. And as for the warranty I believe if the one you get does not fit you or your horse since you cannot try it out first should be returnable. However as for a warranty to cover every type of possible flaw is a big order as long as the flaw does not impact the usability, fit or safety of the saddle, and at the cost your not going to get the ferrari type warranty. So with all that I am not advocating or discrediting, though I have seen some good with the number of saddles they must sell I am sure not everyone has been perfect either. My only point is before you choose to discredit, consider everything cost, warranty, fit, purpose, comfort both you and horse, availability of 17" seat, and amount of use expected, plus any other aspects I may have left out. Good luck in your search.

    Toolrolls Needed

Hi Claire We could do you a soft chap leather tool roll and add a logo to it by stamping on different leather and sewing it on, or we could have the logo lasered onto the chap leather. Definatley interested in discussing options with you. Dink prorodeooutfit@aol.com
  12. The difference is the width of the nose band. I click them in 3, 4, and 5 inch widths have done a few in 6" but I thought that was just to wide for my taste. you can see some examples on my web site if it will help. www.prorodeooriginals.com Dink
  13. Weaver leather carries them in the square bottom in several sizes.
  14. Chris at Pro dies can make your dies which I do not believe would be very complex in shape for $1.80 per inch of rule used, so for the sake of easy math say your sole dies is basically 12" long and 3" wide your total rule used is 30" x $1.80 this is a $54 dollar die. They do a good job and gurantee the work. 720-341-3259. You can also see some dies at www.prorodeooriginals.com Thanks Dink

    Die Steel

How much and what size are you looking for? In most cases if you want 1.25" it comes in 220' rolls and there are several places. the smaller heights like 3/4" can be found in 3' strips but create alot of waste. Depending on what size and how much I could provide some. Dink prorodeooutfit@aol.com
  21. Billy Thank You again for the spur straps, they brought $90 and was helpful in the need for financial assistance for medical bills for a 13 year old boy. Dink
