  1. Looks very nice and I think it is a good design. I might have to give something like that a try for my German Shepherds.
  2. Please send stamp catalog to rohnsfineleather@yahoo.com.
  3. Thanks Bob. I do enjoy making them. You do some beautiful work yourself.
  4. Thanks everyone for the great replies. I know everyone wants to know how long it takes me to make a holster, but I don't keep track of time since I do it by stages. These were all cut out a week or so before I started tooling them. I think I tooled them all in one day. Yesterday I cut out 2 holsters, and tooled one of them. The other one was ordered with no tooling. I also tooled 4 more holsters yesterday, that I had previously cut out. These holsters will hopefully be finished this week. After I cut them out, I wet the leather, and let it sit for a while, then I tool them, punch the lacing holes, and while they are still damp I whip stitch them (with cheap plastic lace) and fit the gun into the holster, pull the gun out and let them dry. the cheap lace is then cut and removed. once they are dry, usually next day I dye them. The day after that I smooth the insides and put on the finishes except the final one and lace them, then the straps are made and a final coat of finish is put on. Once that is dry the straps and snaps are attached and I am finished. This should give you an idea of how much work goes into holster making.
  5. I do not bevel the edge, although it may be a good thing to do, my border tool pushes down the edge just fine.
  6. Looks pretty good for a first attempt. One thing I do is cut the border line with the swivel knife. It makes it more defined when you put the shell (camouflage) around the tooling. Good job.
  7. Looks good, and if it holds an edge, well that is a good knife.
  8. Very nice work as always Snubby. I enjoyed the video too.

Wow! That is very beautiful work. Amazing for sure.
  10. Those look great. This is very interesting to me because I have to make some of those for a customer of mine.
  11. Thanks for all the great comments. I do a lot of these holsters.
  12. Looks like you are doing an excellent job. Very nice work!
  13. Very nice holster. You do nice work, Snubby. I also enjoyed the video.
  14. I use "Realeather" craft lace that I buy from Weaver. Sometimes I use Kangaroo lace but I don't think I did in any of these.
  15. SJSleather, those are true master belts. I consider myself a craftsman with leather but you are a true artist.
  16. I make three width sizes of belts 1.25" 1.50" and 1.75" . I do not do any embossed belts. My belts are all hand stamped unless someone requests a plain belt. They are not lined but I do make the inside smooth. I use 9/10 Hermon Oak leather on all my belts. They all come with a buckle and I use Chicago screws to attach the buckle so that it can be changed if the customer wants. I do them in black, chocolate, dark brown, brown, and saddle tan. I may be considered by some as a weekend leather worker but I do this every day and I sell quite a few belts with lots of return customers. I also make more holsters by far than belts. Prices: 1.25" - $50.00 1.50" - $50.00 1.75" - $60.00
