  1. A lot of parts on my machine have the IVI factory marking and the 6HM (Model 6 Harmes Maker) marking. IVI Metallics in the UK produced parts and needles for BUSMC so I would assume the machine (or at least the parts) come from BUSMC. The handwheel is "relabeled" for DVSG Germany. Thats at least what I think. Or DVSG bought parts from BUSMC and assambled the machine in Germany. What do you think when has this machine been made? I would assume either in the 1930´s prior Sept. 1939 or after the war in th mid 1940´s to mid 1950´s.
  2. I´d try a needle 1 size larger
  3. I have an Adler 105-6 on Ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/331528348387 Machine is extremely clean and overall in very very good condition. Comes with 1 Phase 220Volt 550Watt Servo Motor and 40mm pulley. Mounted on a nice versatile stand. Machine can be shipped EU wide or you arrange pick up by freight forwarder or show up personally. If seriously interested please send me a PM for details. I´m open for offers.
  4. Thanks Cheryl. I have seen a bunch of shop press solutions on LW.net and this of course is not a bad idea but I´m absolutely in no hurry and I really prefer vitage machinery. I do not make serious money with my hobby and there are still some other things on my "like to have list"
  5. Well - no Clicker - no dies. I was also thinking about the Lucris III but thats still too much money for the few item I would click.
  6. LW Member Darren Brosowski is selling a bunch of new made Singer 45k Parts on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=bungee50&hash=item4ae28f6ca8&item=321628630184&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.X45k.TRS0&_nkw=45k&_sacat=0 I may have a few used parts but have to take a closer look what it is in particular. I would assume most 45k have the same parts in the shuttle era but there are indeed some different parts number and I don´t know the exact differences. I know LW member Frankqv also has a 45K53 so maybe he can get you the right parts numbers. I have attached a parts list for the 45K48 but I´m not 100% certain that the parts are exactly the same for your machine. 45K48.pdf
  7. what you mean with "the assembly to it"? If you have a parts list then the numbers would help to ID the parts you need.
  8. Presser foot bar, needle bar + fly wheel are SOLD.
  9. I was able to acquire an BUSMC 6HM machine and it had a bunch of parts attached which I don´t need for my purposes so I´d like to sell them to folks who are restoring this type of machine. Most of the parts are for a clutch system when the machine is driven by motors. The last few pictures show a water bath box for the wax heating system. It mounts to the back of the machine. This would also make a nice accessories / spare parts / needle box if you don´t need it for the heating system I´m open for serious offers - though these parts are quite rare I don't want an arm and and leg for them. I just want to reduce my costs a bit. I will ship worldwide! I would also trade for Singer 45K, Singer 133K / 132K accessories, a roller foot for these machines or Round Point 331 needles in size 160 (23), 180 (24), 200 (25), bobbins, presser feet or other useful accessories for the BUSMC #6. Would like to sell / trade all parts at once if possible. I know there will be not many who would be interested in these parts but you never know so I´m open for offers. Please send me a PM so we can talk about details.
  10. You have to remove the hand wheel and the large bushing behind the hand wheel. And through that holw you can slip on the new timimg belt. See page 21 in this manual 111W156.pdf
  11. Do you have a manual for your machine? If not download one. I´d first check the position of the stitch length aduster and probably increase the pressure of the foot.
  12. IT´S ALIVE... HA HA HA HA.... ALLLLIIIIIIIIVE The former owner cut metric threads into the shuttle tension spring an insert some odd screws. Bottom thread always hung up and broke because of the oversizes and odd shaped heads. I replaced them with some shop made screws with reduced head diameter and flattened heads. I cut deeper slits into the screws and polished the heads... shuttle is ready to go! Thank God for the Dremel tool. I have to play with the tension + foot pressure a little bit but the 1st attempt was not too bad. Seems I have a working BUSMC #6 now Thanks a lot to Al Muckart & Gordond !!! I´m sure I will have some more questions later
  13. You`ll find a lot of topics on the Tippman Boss: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1 Seems it has some issues but I will not judge the machine as I never used one.
  14. I have not bought from them (still looking for a nice vintage clicker) but I once found this Ebay seller who offers custom dies for 35€ per "meter".
  15. I also tried to contact them w/o success. I guess some dealers complained that they sell their products to end consumers for a much lower price and thats why they stopped selling parts directly. If you need a drop down edge guide I´d try College Sewing in the UK. They sell the guides for a good price I´d say. I have ordered mine from them and I´m pleased. I guess it also is made by Kwokhing.
  16. The top shaft should have a internal thread so it depends if the servo motor comes with the right screw or not. Usually they come with 2 different threaded screws.
  17. Thanks for the links. It does not hurt me. I though it´s better to ask before you throw away something that "could" have a value.
  18. Thanks Al! The heating system is for sewing with pitched thread or for very sticky wax, right? So this is a part I don`t need.
  19. Thnaks for the pictures. Okay - found the holes for the wax pot but why a 3rd wax pot on the backside? What is it for? I wonder which machine is the later production - yours or mine? I have found a number on top of the head. Is this the serial number? I also have found another USM / BUSMC 6 with stitch lenght aduster on the back. But this one is made for (or in) France. This is also the "cheapest" BUSMC I have found http://www.sieck.de/maschinen/neuzugaenge/details/5164/
  20. And the list goes on Here we have a S. LEVY, BERLIN patcher http://www.ebay.de/itm/131478639627?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true Pictures stolen from Ebay
  21. I see - really different! Mine has the stitch length adjuster on that end. The scale shows a max. stitch length of 3 1/2 and the max. RPM of 420 rpm´s. Where do you adjust your stitch length? Seems you can´t do it on the cam, right? Can you post a picture of the backside of the machine w/o stand? BTW - this morning I just found this website of the British United Shoe Machinery History group: www.buhistory.org.uk/tag/machinery And when you scroll down you´ll find a video of a CO. called IVI METALLICS - so I´d guess this the Company that produces metal parts for BUSMC and did the cast iron work too.
  22. I also noticed IVI markings - is it an abbreviation? And what is this box for? I found no place where I could mount it. The stud fits in a hole on the arm but there are not threads of holes for screws. I thought it could be s spare parts box or so but Im not sure. And some more pictures of the bobbin winder. The spindle for the thread roll is missing as it seems. So this is how it look temporarily assembled - I have to buy some nuts + bolts
  23. Interestingly mine has no bolts, mine has brass studs and a washer on each side but maybe the studs are left threaded. So I´d guess mine had probably a metal rod. Some pictures: Yes, mine was motor driven but seems a couple of parts are missing to get the clutch mechanism working. I will strip it down for treadle use. So I may have some parts I no longer need. I´m not a collector, I´m a user so maybe someone else can use the parts for restoring another machine. I just noticed most parts are marked with 6HM so I would guess when the Pearson´s / BUSMC´s have the same numbers they will be interchangeable. How is the stitch lever and cam looking on your machines. There is not much documentation for these machines so maybe we can put together some detailed pictures for comparison.
  24. Hey Gordond - I already admired your machines. I stumbled over the pictures when I was googling for Pearson #6 pictures. Very nice machines - really really well done!!!! A Pearson w/o bobbin winder does not make much sense but seems most sell without it as it seems. I always loved these machine and never thought of finding one on this side of the pond. Seems I treated the easter bunny well last year. Mine is missing the driving rod between the pedals and the short arm of the balance wheel on the stand. Were these rods made of wood or metal? Could you give me some measures like thickens, width, length and distance between the 2 holes...? That really would help me.
  25. Depends on what accessories (screws + adapters) come with the motor but usually it is possible. Which Adler machine do you have?
