Hi Storm, thanks for your reply. I especially like the lid closure. The closure works with some strong magnets so that it still stays in place, even when some force from the lid is pulling on the closure. Greets, Marcel

Recently completed Cue Case
TheTrooper replied to BHCustomCases's topic in Satchels, Luggage and Briefcases
@BHCustomCases A nice case you have done there. I am also a cue case maker and I know, how much work it is, at the beginning. It could be quiet hard and frustrating sometimes to get the right dimesion for everything and put the stuff together. From my experiences the construction part was and sometimes still is (when I do something what I haven´t done before) the most time cosuming part. Keep up the good work and maybe try something with your own tolling. I mean the stamp look also nice, but when you have done some real tooling on your cases then you are maybe even more proud of it. I also struggle with the pricing of my products, so it would be better when someone else could chime in for a suggestion. Cheers, Marcel -
Hi Frida, getting quality hardware in europe seems to be a mess. I also haven´t found a company where I can get everything i need. But I can give you some links from some nice companies I found (also with the help of this forum): 1. Laederiet Nice shop in Denmark, have also a quiet big selection 2. Skinhouse Also a shop in Denmark... 3. Skinnlaaven a shop in Norway Maybe the other guys and gals from Sweden can also give you some tips about getting hardware in Sweden. Cheers, Marcel

@the Admins at first thanks for the update, it needs getting used to it, but I like the new forum and I think the problems you have at the moment will be solved soon. I have a question, is there no possibility to export the private messages into a html page or something like ?!? This function would be really helpfull to keep the Inbox clean. Cheers, Marcel

I was thinking about coloring some leather flour, mix them with glue and put them into the whole ?!? I appreciate every single hint. THX in advance. Cheers, Marcel

The best thing about Angelus dye...
TheTrooper replied to brinyar's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Hi Kate, big THX for your reply. That was what I wanted to hear It is good to see that life can also be very simple sometimes, too. *gg So I will stay also just with the alcohol (just for thinning the dyes of course ) Cheers, Marcel -
The best thing about Angelus dye...
TheTrooper replied to brinyar's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
@Tina Sadly I still haven´t got an response from Angelus about ordering from Europe, even after 2 times additional mailing :-( But I will get back to you, when I have some informations. @all Due to the fact that I often order my stuff in the US, I am also thinking of purchasing my angelus dyes from an US supplier. I saw on the turtlefeathers homepage that they offer the reducer just in the US. I think it must also be possible to thin the anglelus dyes down in a another way. When someone of U is using the reducer from Angelus, could this one be so kind an post what the exact ingredients are ?!? From what I know this has to be written on the label. I am working in a chemistry lab and can maybe mix something by my own. Even when someone can tell me how he/she is thinning down "normal" spirit dyes this can help me much. Thanks for any hints in advance. Cheers, Marcel -

My 2nd Cue-Case is ready...
TheTrooper replied to TheTrooper's topic in Satchels, Luggage and Briefcases
Hi Tom, thanks for the nice words. Yeah, doing all this sewing can be quiet painfull, put for me its like meditation just me, the leather & and the thread *lol Oh yeah and some harness needles are also involved *rofl This gives the case a real handworked charm. I think I´ll keep this look for the future. It takes a lot of time, but a real good sewing machine is way to expensive for me, so I will stay with handsewing. Doing the top and buttom piece is quiet easy. I just attach the leather onto a piece of plywood and fix it with some nails as U maybe can see in the pics. -

My 2nd Cue-Case is ready...
TheTrooper replied to TheTrooper's topic in Satchels, Luggage and Briefcases
@Aulus Danke für den Tipp, werde diesen in der Zukunft berücksichtigen, sollte ich diese Art von Taschen noch einmal machen. But please come back to english, so that the others can also follow this threat. Cheers, Marcel -
Dear all, yesterday I have finished my 2nd cue-case. Please tell me what you think about it. I learned a lot from this project, which I can insert in my next cases. At this point I want to mention Mr. John Barton, who helped my a lot with all his knowledge about building cue cases. He is always a good chat partner and has an open ear for the problems someone has. Thanks a lot John (hopefully I dare bother you in future as well ;-) Cheers, Marcel
