1906 original parts manual and price list from the lawrence saddle company for a 45k52. hope this helps, jimi.
-
i think the parts manual for the 45k37,42,50 and 52 would have the same or similar parts, i think the 45k50 is the flatbed equivalent of your class 53 I Have an original parts manual from the lawrence saddle company for a 45k52 machine which presumably they used. the only difference i can see is that it is a top feed only and it has the wax heating attatchment, but i think most of the main parts are the same and it has some great views of the presser feet. i will try and upload some pages soon.

Franqv, your machine does not use the presser bar gripping bracket in the pictures of evo.

45k53.pdf check this one out franqv.

The Presser Bar Gripping Bracket is used for the jump foot motion and is located above the top of the face plate where your presser foot tension screw is on your 25. and the Guide Holder Bracket is in one of your posts about restoring your 45k25. you can see it with the gude and the two screws present. it is a swing guide oposed to the fixed ones that come on the 45k21,25 machines. you are missing screw nº SS39 which holds it to the arm (simillar to the oil box screw but longer), the hinge lever and the screw that fixes it to the plate which is used to hold the guide in place and stops it from lifting up. hope this helps, jimi.

that is an adler oil box geneva.

Great price! iam no expert but it looks like there is a bar and its screw missing on the back which is for regulating the tension on the foot. i think it is the same type as the singer 29k machines. (and the oil box is from adler) but who cares! yes like simgermania said this is a jump foot machine and did not come with the roller foot, looks like they have taken the foot assembly off. the one in the picture is the correct one for this machine. this video is the flatbed version but is the same type of jump foot as the 45k89, so you probably have the bar and foot assembly missing and just a roller foot added which has made this basically into a 45k25. if you wanted it to work as a jump foot you need to see what parts are missing because i do not think these are easy to find. but as i said before i am no expert muzish. still for 50€ if it works and sews great!.

My (First) Sewing Machine Is Here..29K33....its Heavy ;)

Hi alex, sorry to see that your machine was empty underneath. i am sure something will turn up. i have seen a lot of these machines on ebay in germany, the long arm singers so you might be lucky and get some parts there?? its worth a look now and again. if you need any measurements i could try and send some pictures and measure the parts underneath mine?? its not the long arm one but the short arm one. i suppose the only difference would be the length of the long rack? possibly someone who makes model trains or steam engines etc might be able to rustle up a couple of piñons as they usually have small lathes?? i might even have an old piñon somewhere (if i can find it) and if it fits you could get the measurements from that and use it as a guide?? regards jimi -
Hi, this is a light which is used on the new pfaff 335s, I was lucky enough to win this on ebay. it is not a very bright light, just 40w but it is focused and you normally come in from the sides with your hands and block out the light. but this way you dont obstruct the light as it is straight on front of you. jimi

Hi Glenn, Thanks,I thought I had commented something about that nakajima tension unit before but must have forgot. in the end it was fraying the thread, sometimes it would work ok and others it would fray the thread. it could be because it is new and the edges are not smooth enough yet?? also after passing through the disks the thread would also catch on the small screw from time to time, i think that was where the problem might be, the part with the tension spring. I will put it on again at some point and try to see exactly where the problem lies. so I opted for the second hand one aquired from constabulary who had a spare. now it seems to have solved that problem. the brass plate can be seen on one of the pictures on the first page, it says 335/17B S. and the pfaff decals, well i just copied the letters from pictures on the net and sized them approximately. the one on the head plate was touched up in paintshop, then printed them on water slide decal paper and laquered them 4 times. jimi.

Hi Evo, look up the same place as before and you will find the parts manuals there. http://dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/index.htm then click on-support-parts book-singer-model nº and away you go. this is what i used for my 45k21 needle plate and feed dog as i dont have that parts manual.YET? the one in the picture is for the 45k1 etc they are the flat bed versions not the cylinder bed like yours. so in the end did you have a modified foot on??? or a right toe with the normal feed dog?? this wont feed the material! by the way i did not make these plates in the last picture, the only one i got welded was the small plate for the 17-10.
-
Evo these 3 plates have been welded/brazed, just remember to take off all the sharp edges after you file and drill , especially the needle hole because that´s where the thread will pull through. if it finds a sharp edge it will fray or break. you see how close the scale is in the drawing to the original plate? you can see how they start to open and get larger in the first two pictures, this is due to the constant pulling through of thread and the needle hitting and rubbing too. the next one is newer and almost exact to the drawing.

This was the first machine we bought 20yrs ago for 12€ treadle included from a retired cobbler. the only machine i have repainted is the pfaff because the paint was quite bad all-round and the old 45k1 has a touch up on the flatbed part because there was no paint left. then i used shellack again to revive the dull paint. and i left the original decals on(what was left of them). Sorry Evo no more machines for those "old cast iron lovers" For your machine Evo i would do the same as constabulary, repaint and decal as it looks like someone has repainted this already because there are no decals present.first i would get it to sew, then take off all the possible parts for cleaning, this machine does not have a lot of complicated parts on it as you will see. i personally would not take off any main axles etc. take pictures or draw parts and positions to be sure you know where they will go afterwards. i put the parts in groups in small bags, that way the screws dont get mixed up or lost. i think i have seen a badge like the one you have somewhere else before. i think this was just a numbering system used in a big factory on their machines to keep an inventory of them etc.. there was one on internet a few months back with a similar badge. you were lucky to find the roller wheel present on your machine, they came in three sizes i think. that is the only difference between the 45k21 and the 45k25, one came with a presser foot and the other came with a roller foot. and if you are going to look for a treadle for this remember they are bigger and more sturdier than the normal domestic ones, also they have a small arm underneath to support the weight of the machine due to the cutaway in the table. -
Evo, it looks like you have a modified foot or one that is not for the 45k25? does it have any number on the side? have a look at the picture with the foot sewing the leather, you can see that the toe is longer. this could be another reason for it not feeding. it also looks like a right toe foot which will not feed if you use it with the normal feed dog. this is the plate and dog i had to make to use the right toe foot properly. you can check the feet numbers here, and in your other post there is a picture of the right toe presser with the plate and feed dog on top of a green book: http://dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/MANUALS/SINGERPARTS2/45K21,%2045K25,%2045K63,%20&%2045K78.pdf
