OK, good to hear that you got the new foot. i did not think you could get new feet for these old machines??? could you tell me how much these feet cost nowadays??
-
Hi there, could you upload a photo of your foot on your machine, and if possible some measurements? have you seen the parts manual for your machine? if so what is the nº of the foot you were thinking of?
-
i think i need a small lathe/milling machine or something to start with? a lot of parts look easy to do and everyone sells(if they sell) always the same parts?? the singer parts list is full of options for these machines (and many others) but i always see the same 3 parts again and again "i hope it dosent just stay as an idea folker!!" By the way folker, do you sew canvas on your machines?? I mean new canvas? If so what types of canvas is there available these days?
-
ok now i get you, i will have to check that manual out "for laughs" how is the biz for the 45k parts getting along? i hope to do the same a bit further on in time, get some original parts then see if i can make new ones for selling.

Yes Tramps, if it is not on the machine i bet those ones on ebay would fit? on the singer 18 they fit well and they are not expensive, so no big loss?

So how is your machine getting along? does your jump foot leave any marks on your vegi tan leather if you sew 2 pieces together with the good sides on the outsides??

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Grose-Nahmaschine-Ledernahmaschine-Leder-Jeans-Stoff-Polster-Sattler-Maschine-/371256906493?pt=DE_Elektronik_Computer_Haushaltsger%C3%A4te_N%C3%A4hmaschinen_PM&hash=item5670a2d2fd you could try and ask if they have any spare feet to sell? or they might know where to find them?? go to ebay germany and put in "sattler nähmaschine" or "Adler nähmaschine" some weeks they may have 5-6 machines on and others 1 or none, its just a case of looking now and again and asking the owner if he will sell any feet. jimi.

OK, good luck. and remember to keep looking on ebay.de for the adler 4 or 5 feet as i am sure they will fit. you will have to ask them to sell the feet apart from the machine, some will be willing and others not. also i have put up a copy of an original users manual if you are interested. jimi.

if you have two the same you could always grind one down? how many feet do you have?

!! probably a months wages or more Al?? you can find these documents and many more of other singer class sewing machines here...http://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollections/Trade-Literature/Sewing-Machines/CF/single-record.cfm?AuthorizedCompany=Singer%20Manufacturing%20Company you can find quite a lot of information here, and remember to look and see how many pages they have when you open the document because they may differ. some have one or two and others have 9-10 pages, all interesting stuff.

Curious to see decals on the base, the square work table and the double row of teeth feed dog on the 45k21 page. also you can see that the bobbin winder is a one piece arm and not yet an articulated one.
-
Here are some more pages from an older book.

Thanks Folker.

Hi Everyone, if you have a singer class 45k sewing machine then you will know how difficult it is to find an Original users manual for this class of machine. Either they were all burned? or someone has a big stash of them somewhere??. I have finally come across one which was in between a few other manuals and would like to share with you 45k users as i know how difficult it is to get your hands on one. i cant get it up in PDF (too big) so you will have to do this yourself afterwards. I will also add some more information regarding the class 45k machines which i managed to find in the past couple of years. feel free to add any other information regarding this machine to this topic as this kind of information should not be kept in a drawer.

Would Appreciate Your Advise On Restoring This Singer 45K25
jimi replied to Evo160K's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Hi Al, you might find a material guide and needle plate etc... here? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151519462940?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT -
Hi Muzisch, so back to hand stitching again, the truth is these old machines can take up a lot of time and money. if you dont know much about these machines and it is not up and running well for you then it could be a pain in the ass to get it working. Pushing the big pedal on a treadle for one of these machines has a zen thing going for it too :-)) anyway good luck with your work and if the owner changes his mind i would gladly pick up his machine for parts also, put me on the list LoL! regards, jimi.

Nice Parts Find Singer 45K / Adler 5
jimi replied to Constabulary's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Oh! you were lucky there Folker, I had asked this seller to sell me some parts but he did not reply back to me, and that roller foot was one I think I should have asked him in German? maybe next time. maybe you could show us how you use the raw edge binder attachment and the other one that is similar. what set up do you use - Needle plate, feed dog. as you know, a picture of an attachment will not explain how it is used correctly. jimi
