Bob, I owe you a HUGE thank you. Your video literally got me started. I learned so much from those videos and have taken off from there. My passion for leather started with those videos, and 200 guitar straps later my life has changed. Thank you

Someone gave me a pen pad for Christmas. A pretty good sized one at that. What is the best software to utilize this thing? If I can trace something, that would be great I don't know much about these programs

I was wondering if there are any leather guilds or groups of any kind in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area? Anyone ever been to this horse show? 2016 Midwest Horse Fair https://www.facebook.com/events/223209451343853/ Wondering if there was anything leather related there?

I've purchased several templates from Black River, and have been unhappy with the results. I bought a biker wallet, and a med-large holster templates. Not a fan. Just my .02

I've been making guitar straps for a few years. My best selling strap has oval slotted conchos. At first I had no problem finding them. I started looking a couple of days ago to replenish my stock. Seems my past sources are out. Anyone know of any secret sources, or have any they want to get rid of? Thanks I've looked at conchos.com, and Springfield Leather

Raw, Veg Tanned Guitar Strap Question
geckostraps replied to geckostraps's topic in How Do I Do That?
He just wants the color of the natural leather. He actually wants a "cream" type of color. I showed him a piece of raw veg, and thats exactly what he wants. Now I know him, and like I said in my original post, hes a sweater. Its my concern more then his. -
I have a good friend that asked me to make him a guitar strap that is... raw. That is no dye. I've never done this before. He wants the color of the raw leather. I know this guy is a big sweater when he plays. I am worried about the sweat leaving stains or discoloring the leather. I use a furniture grade leather on my straps as a backer. Any tips? Thanks

I'm tired of the local Tandy's inventory. Anyone know of any places in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area to get veg tan leather? Thanks PS- I prefer someplace local, as I've had bad experiences buying sides sight unseen.

I've been making guitar straps for 2 1/2 years. Been getting serious the past 6 months. I have a local tailor thats been sewing my straps for me. Seems I've been paying him ALOT of money lately. $20 a strap to be exact I'm thinking its time to get a machine and learn how to do this on my own. I can spend $800-1000 on a machine. This would be a good time to mention, I don't know the first thing about sewing or sewing machines. Here is one I am intrigued by. http://www.ebay.com/itm/310343894852?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Its in Chicago which is drive able for me What exactly do I need to sew.....7-9 oz. Leather? Thanks
