  1. That's the one. Worked a charm. All good advice. Gracias.
  2. My wife found this wine tote at the jockey lot. The bag is in excellent shape but the handle is rotten. I. Need to remove the steel rivets but figure will probably spin and oversize the hole. I can always stitch a new handle in but wont really match since dont have rawhide string. Any suggestions?
  3. It's dull so wouldn't cut much but I like the string theory. It's unique so may keep it like it is. Would put an edge back though.
  4. Anderson SC. Raised my kids right outside of Atlanta but we are slowly migrating to SC. I love buying old tools there, can still buy them at a good price without being treated as an antique decoration.
  5. Can't help with advice but want to redo a Corbin in brown leather so will keep an eye here. Good luck.
  6. Found this knife at the Jockey Lot today for 2 dollars. Guy said it was knife for cutting string in machines. Don't know. Had several so was clearly a manufacturing use tool. It says Wennerholm Atlanta,GA Made in Italy. Can't find anything bout it. Figure worst case I can make it into a mill knife. Would be easy enough on the grinder.
  7. Draw a quarter circle at the corner, cut it out and stitch up to the edge. Can you show a picture of the stacked leather bottom?
  8. "Ready for show" I'll say. That bike is a show stopper. Very very cool. Does he have the build documented on the web? I would like to have a closer look at some of those details like the primary and forward control set-up.
  9. Me too please. Joe.petersen at gmail
  10. An interesting read. Thought ya'll might enjoy. http://www.boot.com/quality.htm
  11. That's a beautiful piece of white oak. The figure is a perfect example of why I believe there may be equivalent exotic woods from around the world, but none better. Nice pony.
  12. I was raised in Cleveland. Good to meet you.
  13. Cool idea. Wouldn't scratch like the metal ones do.
  14. I made a knife sheath recently no where near as nice as yours. I like the videos. Just your straight forward process without all the talk.
  15. I've seen the real book binding, even have a real neat article, but not for me. I'm gonna need this to fold back on itself and lay flat so she doesn't mangle that beautiful art I love so much. I should have thought of it a long time ago to keep it all in one place instead of every square inch of my house:)
  16. I love this. My daughter wants a sketchbook for Christmas and I thought I might try one. Can you tell me what kind of paper you used? I found an 80 weight paper at Office Depot in an 11x17. Not super expensive. Its a great weight, but I'm not sure what size I want to cut it down to. I know she wants a book that will fold back flat so I'll have to modify anyway.
  17. Gawd almighty. The wow factor indeed. Single sided swingarm is a treat. A sprotor setup would be cool. Stretched for a mile. I'm a huge sucker for a girder too. I like the idea of Sheridan being a great contrast to the modern look. I don't know though. I'm thinkin more like a classic pin-up girl or a spiral that overlaps like Celtic knot work. Very cool bike. Let us know what you come up with.
  18. I envy all of you. I learned a long time ago that just I don't have design creativity. My abilities lie elsewhere. But this is the reason I come to a site like this to see all the beautiful work ya"ll do. What is the style of the bike? If no style per se, what kind of bike is it? Would love to see when done.
  19. I checked the new store out as well Monday. I knew I was in for a treat when I saw nothing had prices. I did however buy a piece of 7oz leather. I need to make a couple sheaths.
  20. I have a vest with a shiny finish. had to remove a patch somebody superglued in place which left a bad looking square. I used a finish sander with medium grit sandpaper to blend that spot. Looked aged in short order. I never did the rest of it but I think it would work fine. It did lighten the color a bit, but I'm sure Indy would approve.
  21. I don't presume anything about tanning to be easy. Very long and arduous. Very beautiful work. I don't mean to insult. Really none of my business what you charge.
