  1. This is terrific, thanks so much for pointing me to eBay, seeger.
  2. KnottyLinda.com She has it and it is terrific, she is on Vancouver Island.
  3. For sale cobra 4 dream machine king cobra and a brand new never used clicker. All of these items are in Middleport Ohio. They used to belong to a member here Cheryl Crossan who died unexpectantly. The cobra is basically brand new used about twice. $2100.00 for both. Clicker comes with two maybe three dies. The clicker is a 12 ton. There are numerous other tools and leather up for sale also. Pm me if interested. Leather Wytch
  4. Excellent! They are both great looking love that gold.
  5. I just may try it both ways. Only with the lighter leather I would use glue. Randi-Lee
  6. I believe that lighter leather, like garment may be easier to work with. I have also been thinking about trying this. Randi-Lee
  7. What you need to realize is that not everyone wants crosses, skulls, or naked women/men on their things. I do not make thing with any religious symbols, skulls or naked women/men on them unless it is ordered or I am going somewhere where that is the theme. Randi
  8. I am notorious for lining things. Although I do not do flip flops but saddles with straps, I knew they would not be comfortable. So I put pigskin lining on the underside of the straps, way more comfortable.
  9. Let me know how long it lasts. I may make one for my mother Shepherd. Where did you get the squeakers?
  10. Where is she at, living wise. Meaning where would these have to be sent to?
  11. Actually there are very few in the world that are authorized to carry Herman Oak. If they are not authorized and they say they are carrying it they are in trouble. I actually spoke with the owner today, he was at the only store in Canada today. With the owner of the store I was in.
  12. I am sorry but after decades of using Tandy leather veg tan. I am more than partial to using Herman Oak instead for tooling; belts, bags, etc. I actually picked up some more today. I won't say that Tandy doesn't have some nice garment leather because they do. I am just more partial to Herman Oak. I love the way it cuts, tools and it is tanned the old way or six weeks or more.
  13. Sometimes the best price is not the best leather but being able to tell good leather from not so much comes with time and experience. There are other hand made tools that are excellent but yes, they are expensive. I can't afford Barry Kings with the exchange rate and shipping. But yes you can get tools at Tandy's that are fairly decent. Like I said I don't have a choice, all my tools come from Tandy's. If you are moving into tooling and Herman Oak or other veg tan leather, you will need edge bevels. You will not need for things like the one you did. I only use Herman oak for tooling unless I am doing prototypes. Herman oak cuts like butter and beautiful to work with. I am so glad we have the only distributer in Canada for it in Calgary. Wing divider is tres' important and so are the chisels. for making your holes for sewing. All tools you can get at Tandy. Their pro series is better and a bit more expensive.
  14. I would say to check out gun shows in your area and sell them there. It would save you the headache.
  15. That is very nice! You have much to be proud of.
  16. Hi newbie, as biker mutt said the best place on the internet and we are always willing to help out. If you catch a bunch of us yapping in chat some nights, we will even help you guys there. Yes, in chat we don't always talk about leather, You need some thonging chisels these have bent ends and they make the holes for you to lace through. You have some excellent hide shops in California and for you it would be way cheaper than for me in Canada. Try the Hide House, you will become an addict. it takes time to stitch properly and when you do and it is all nice and straight you tap them down with your mallet, then they are not bulging up.
  17. If you want them to match these I suggest someone with experience.

This is a great idea. For those of you that didn't know her she was kind funny person that was always willing to help out with leather related questions. she posted a lot on the site and if she had an opinion that differed from yours she was more than willing to share it! One of her great dreams was to attend Sheridan for the leather show there. She made that trip. It cost her a lot, more than she had and more than she could afford, she had many health issues that could have stopped her on this trip, she new that and went ahead with it anyway. I never met her in person but i was so proud of her that she did it. She lived that dream. I hope that can be said of me when its my time.

I found leather work and this site several years ago when things were not going well for me. she was one of the first people I met in the chat room along with Leatherwytch, Rossr, Squirrelly,  Bonnie and Halitech, Yin and Leatherisfun as well as several others.  Jazzman was also there. Some of you may remember him but he left us awhile ago too, these people made a difference, Cheryl made a difference.

For those of you that new her and met her you were lucky to have done so. We also argued a lot! on pretty much everything, i joked that i was only allowed one hippie friend and that she was it. All of us that new her have a story and a memory of her. I would encourage you to tell that story, here and now and if you can spare it, kick in a few dollars for someone that made a difference

  18. Yin, Cheryl died yesterday morning. As part of the group tomorrow night we will be discussing setting up a scholarship on here in her and Jazzman's name.

  19. Johanna,

The group of us who were always in chat with Cheryl Crossan would like to start a Scholarship in her and Jazzman's honour on here. We are in the process of of now working out the fine details. She also loved her service dog so we are working out things to do with that too.  We just would love to have your permission to do this.

    Thanks,

    Randi-Lee

I will. We figured this was her place and we all met here and she would love this for the betterment of leather and people. Both of them were wonderful people, this is a wonderful place. Is there a way to have it posted in with the other categories?

Gonna miss her in chat. She was always so lively and made everyone feel welcome. She will be missed but not forgotten

  22. I think it is time I add my $5 worth (inflation). I haven't done skulls, you don't have to be a biker to like skulls and some skulls are exceptional. Skulls have special meaning to some folks it is a tribute to an ancestor or ones that you have loved, liked and have left this realm. Skulls like graveyards have special meaning to me. They represent history and ancestors before me and other. They teach us things. I am not obsessed with death, just history. It is like old architecture to me, it represents history and days gone past. One day we may all be skulls (not me, cremation) and from our bones and skulls people may see beauty, history, and discover cures from them. Skulls, bones and human form is also art. It would be wrong to banish them from the kingdom. I have not seen f bombs on here because this site is set up to banish **** such words.
